So Sorry For Your Loss

Hello!  Just a quick post.  I didn't get a picture taken yesterday in time to submit this for the challenge I made it for.  The Playdate Cafe.

****I knew I saw this sketch somewhere and couldn't remember where.  Well, I found it.  Where I wasn't expecting to find it.  LOL  The wonderful Nina Bracket has a sketch challenge going on at her blog.  Go over and check it out.  You have until April 10th to enter.

This was just a simple card for a friend at work who's dog passed away.  To some people who don't have children, thier dogs are thier kids.  I know what it is like to have your dog pass away.  It is just horrible.  SO I thought the least I could do was make her a special card.

Sunshine and Card Patterns

Hello everyone!  I popped over at 2 Sketches 4 You and noticed I made the Fab 5.  Woohoo!

I made a card for this weeks Card Patterns wonderfully simple sketch.  It is nice to have some that don't take too much time trying to figure out how to make it work.
I have had this PTI stamp set for a couple months and have still not used this image yet.  So here you go.  What do you think?  It is nice and simple.
I used my new DP from My Minds Eye/Home.  I loved the big 12x12 pack when it came out and thought it was pretty but too glittery.  Friday night when I was at Michaels I saw the Photo Mat stack, it didn't have glitter...so I had to get it.
Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI/ Vintage Cream
DP: My Minds Eye
Stamps: PTI/ Blooming Button Bits
Ink: PTI/ Raspberry Fizz & Martha Stewart/ Stem Green
Buttons: PTI
Crystals: ME and My Big Ideas
Ribbon: American Crafts

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Hello everyone!  It is Thursday already.  I can't believe it.  We are moving in 3 weeks and I have't packed anything.  Nothing!

I made a card for the bonus sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You.  I got this new DCWV Linen Closet paper at JoAnn's last night and started making cards right away.  I didn't expect to like it this much.  The colors are so soft and it has great looking textures to it.

DP: DCWV Linen Closet
Stamps: PTI/ Big and Bold Wishes
Ink: PTI/ Aqua Mist, Dark Chocolate
Felt flower: Spellbinders, button, and floss
Crystals: Me and My Big Ideas
Seam Binding:/ Memrie Mare Etsy shop
Scalloped Oval: Spellbinders

Betsy Veldman's Challenge

I was doing my rounds of new posts and saw Betsy Veldman has a challenge going on at her blog.  This is one of many she will have so hurry up and go see for yourself.  The challenge was to create a card using one of 9 techniques.  I chose to emboss because I love the way it looks and I almost always forget to use my embossing folders.  I need to make that a priority from now on.  It makes everything just pop with texture.
I also stapmed one of the butterflies on an old piece of sheet music and then cut it out and spritzed it with Wheatfields Glimmer Mist...which  BTW is the best color for making things look aged without overdoing it.

Supplies
Cardstock: PTI/ Vintage cream
DP: DCWV/ Linen Closet
Ink: PTI/ Aqua Mist, Dark Choclate
Stamps: Autumn Leaves/ Journal & PTI/ Butterfly Dreams
Cricut: Tags, bags, boxes(tag)  & Indie Art (butterfly)
Other: Crochet Lace, Seam Binding. Flowers, Old sheet music, Prima flower, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Wheatfields Glimmer Mist, PTI buttons

Thanks so much for stopping by
I appreciate all of you!

Happy Birthday/ Colour Q

Hello everyone!  I was at the wonderful Betsy Veldman's blog and she shows you how to make these wonderful flowers.  I knew I had to make some.  I made the flower using Vellum, then spritzed it with my Glimmer Mist.
I used the color inspiration from Colour Q I think I might be posting this too late to make the deadline for the challenge. Oops! I got called into work today and didn't get to post it earlier. I litterly took the picture and ran out the door.

Happiness is You- JUGS 25/ Caardvarks

Hello!  I bought this cute little girl stamp Friday night at Archivers.  It is from Hero Arts.  I figured it would be good for practicing my Copic coloring.  It isn't the best, but I was trying to distract myself from being so upset about my mom being in the hospital several hundred miles away...and not being able to be there.
I also got these beautiful Prima flowers there too.
The challenges this card belongs to is JUGS for the color inspiration and Caardvarks for the NEW stamp and lace.  If you know me...you know I love lace.

Card Patterns

I am so excited to share my card for Guest DT at Card Patterns I was thrilled to go check the new weeks sketch to find I won Gest DT.  The girls over there have some of the best sketch challenges out there.  I was a little thrown by the wave in the middle.  I found some digital stamps that had the sentiment in a wave pattern.  I just printed it out on cardstock and cut it by hand, and put it above.  What do you think?

SRM stickers is the sponser of this weeks challenge.  You can check out thier blog here or thier website to buy these wonderful stickers I have been hearing about here.

Thank you!

Thank you so much!

Hello!  Happy Friday.   I couldn't get the best picture because it is just dreary again.  We have snow coming again tonight.  They said anywhere from 1-3 inches.  Crazy!  It was 63 here yessterday.  Oh my!  If it weren't for us moving in 4 weeks, I would buy a light tent.  I think we should have enough sun in Alabama.

I made this card for the wonderful color challenge at Playdate Cafe and the sketch at 2 sketches 4you.  I found this new Ek Sucess border punch at Target.  Loved it the minute I saw it.  I also used my new PTI stamp set Beautiful Blooms II. Isn't this just the most beautiful color combination?  Mona picked a great inspiration picture.

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI & AC
DP: K & Com
Stamps: PTI
Ink: Raspberry Fizz, Sweet Blush, Lemon Tart, Spring Moss
Ribbon: Seam Binding from Memrie Mare Etsy

Brother's Birthday

Hello!  Can you believe we are halfway through the week?  Woohoo!  :)
Just a quick post today.  My brother's birthday is the 19th and I need to send this today in hopes he will get it on time.  I always have the hardest time making masculine cards.  I am actually happy with the end result.  What do you think?  He likes the kinda asian inspired look, so this was perfect.  I used Basic Grey /Boxer paper.  Told you I hoard my supplies.  :)
Thanks so much for stopping by.  I am off to make another card for my guest DT at Card Patterns.  I will be posting that Saturday Morning.

Have a great week!

A Happy Easter

Hello again!
I just wanted to post a couple quick cards that I made for a friend at work.  I forgot to take pictures of the other 3 I already gave her.  This card is using another one of those fabulous images from Graphics Fairy.  I took my Copica and doctored it up also.  All the shading in the bag I went back over with Neutral Grey NO.

I made this card based off of a card the Mish did at Mish Mash.  I just adore her style and she always makes everything look fabulous.  I did tell her I was lifting her Layout.  :)  I actually almost completely copied it.  It was just fabulous!  Don't you think?  Have you ever just had to make a card you saw on someone elses blog?  This is the first for me.  I did try to make it my own.  If you haven't checked her out you must go now!

I used a very pale purple ink to stamp corners on the center square.  It is another dreary day here.  I seem to get maybe one day with sun lately.  So most of my pictures have to be corrected alot in Picasa.

Thanks so much for stopping by again.  Have a great week!

Jugs / Playdate Cafe

Hello my friends.  I have been very inspired the last couple of days.  I wanted to make the flap card over at JUGS a Birthday card for my mom....and decided to use the colors from the Playdate Cafe.  What took me the longest was to find the right poem for the inside of the card.  I usually try to print something off for the inside of all my cards before I send them off.
What do you do for the inside of your cards?

Click on the card to make it bigger and read the inside.  I fell in love with this poem the minute I read it
.

Beautiful inspirational picture Julie!
