Card Patterns sketch 88

Hello my sweet blog friends.  Happy Saturday!  It got cold here last night.  I woke up and it was 66 degrees in the house.  I had to get out my down comforter last  night.  I love it when it gets colder during this time of year.  It is time to snuggle up and drink some hot tea.  I think I might not feel the same holiday feeling living in the south.  With no snow, it just doesn't feel like holiday time to me.
Look at the sweet face on this marshmallow.  Don't ya just want to eat him?  Dunk him in your hot chocolate?  This week we are sponsored by DRS designs.  One lucky winner will receive a $10.00 gift certificate.  So play along, I would love to see your creations.
Here is the sketch this week at Card Patterns.

You Inspire Me/ Flourishes/Mercy Sketch

I am back today to share my card for Mercy Sketch challenge and Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge.  The challenge at Flourishes is "Anything Goes But Buttons and Bows".  Now that is a challenge for me I tell ya.  Oh my!
So I used a paper flower and a pretty metal brad flower with some fall leaves.  I am beginning to wonder if  i should have used different color green leaves.  I tried both before I glued them but now that it is here I am second guessing myself.  Do you ever do that?
I loved these colors together.  Again I colored the image first then picked the paper.  When I do the opposite I have a harder time getting a good result.  I can't stop coloring these beautiful Flourishes stamps.  They are amazing to use my Copics on.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my vintage, pretty pastel colored cards too.  I use to sit and color for hours as a child.  I remember my Barbie coloring books were my favorite.  hehe.  This brings me back to the joy of coloring like I use to have when I was little.  It definatley is a lot more time consuming to make a card with all this coloring and stitching, but the reward is priceless.  I just have them all laying around and I keep looking at them.
Are any of you missing my vintage style?  I think once I have played a little more I will still do some of them as well.  They are very quick and easy.  I can put one of those together in minutes.  These take me a couple hours.  Between the coloring and chosing of the papers and stitching.  I have been taking my time on my stitching.  I think I just wanted to get it finished before, which caused my cards to not look so hot.  Lesson learned!  Tell me what you think.  I want to know.  :)

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI/Rusitc Cream
DP: Basic Grey
Stamps: Flourishes/Sweet Violet
Others: Mulberry flower, metal brad flower, twine, mulberry leaves
Copics:

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to leave me such sweet comments.

Cupcake's Creations Color Challenge

Hello my lovely blog friends.  Are you having a good start to your week so far?  We have a warm front coming through.  I woke up this morning and it was 72 degrees already.
I have some wonderful news.  My blog friend Mona from Cupcake's Creations now has a color challenge.  She has a beautiful inspiration photo for you to go by as well.
Now since it has been stormy my photo isn't the best.  I will try taking another picture later and re post this.  I finally got a hold of Labels 14 dies.  I got them at Flourishes...and received them within 2 days of ordering.

I also used the sketch at Waltzingmouse to create this card.  What better way to support my friend than to use her color challenge and the sketch for the Company she designs for?  I hope you play along with her color challenge too.  Look at these wonderful colors.  Speaking of which...I got a huge bag of apples from a stand on the side of the road here.  They look just like these.

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI/Kraft, Rustic Cream
DP: Daisy D's
Stamps: Watlzingmouse
Ink: Martha Stewart/green, Memento/Tuxedo Black

Peace and Joy/ SFYTT

Hello again.  I told you I would be back.  I made another card using my wonderful new set from Flourishes  called Christmas Classics.  I found a great sketch that worked perfectly with what I had on my desk.  I colored this image the other day and had the papers picked out.  I just didn't have a great sketch to go with my image.  Until today.
I found the sketch at SFYTT.  She has some great sketches.  Not sure how I hadn't found this site before.  Maybe I just didn't pay attention very well.  Which is highly possible.  hehe

I wanted to use pink for the bow.  Something different.  I also used my Tim Holtz distress ink in Tattered Rose for the inside shading on my Spellbinder die.

This set is also supposed to be used with Labels 15 or 16 but I don't have those and it fit perfectly inside my Labels Three die.  I did finally get a hold of Labels 14 so I will have to play around and make something with it today or tomorrow.  ;)
Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI/Rusitc White, Ripe Avocado
DP: Basic Grey/ Eskimo Kisses
Stamps: Flourishes/Christmas Classics
Ink: Memento/Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz/Tattered Rose, Versa Magic Dew Drops/Tea Leaves
Seam Binding: Bluebird Lane Etsy
Spellbinders: Labels Three
Tag die: PTI /Friendship Jar Fillers set

Card Patterns

Hello.  I am back today to share with you my card for this weeks sketch at Card Patterns.  Very simple sketch and I would love to see all my blog friends play along this week.  I was actually a little stumped because it was so simple.
We are sponsored this week by Simply Treasures Etsy.  She provided us with this shabby seam binding I always love to use on my cards.  I made this little doily embellishment months ago and just never used it.  So, I dug it out and decided to use it.  Fit perfectly right were the circle is on the sketch.

Thanks for stopping by.  I will be back tomorrow morning to share a card I made for a sketch challenge blog I just found.  ;)

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI/Rustic Cream

Happy Holidays/2Sketches4You

Hello.  I got my Flourishes stamps in the mail yesterday that I won.  I was so excited to see that I had won the entire release.  Have I mentioned before that they have some of the best stamps?  I am always impressed with the quality and it is the fastest shipping I have ever got from any company.  All of the ladies over there are fabulous.
So anyway...I made a card using the new Christmas Classics set.  If you have been here before you know I have mentioned that I LOVE birds.  Every morning I sit on the deck, read my emails, check blogs, and listen the the birds sing.  It warms my heart and soul.  There isn't much else better than this.  It gives me inner peace.
This has got to be one of my favorite cards I have ever made.  It came together so easy and I am very please with the whole feel of the card.  I used the sketch at 2Sketches4You.  They have 3 sketches this week.  I am sure you can manage to play with one of them, right?
I was playing around the other nigh with all of my PTI background sets.  I just stamped this script background on a scrap piece of paper and aged it with some Tim Holtz distress inks in Fine Linen and Vintage Photo.  Same colors are used for the circle Spellbinder distressing.  I also used some Martha Stewart Snow and Glitter for the berries and braches.  I am going to miss the Cardinals in the snow this year.  Heck, I am going to miss the snow period!  Seriously, I love it when it snows, and we had plenty of it in Iowa.  Somehow I just don't think I am going to see any here in Alabama.

I also have some HAPPY MAIL to share with you.  Two of my wonderful blog friends sent me some goodies.

***The sweet Dawn from My Stamping Thyme sent me this wonderful ornament using the same set I used on my card.  This is what inspired me to make this card last night.  She knows how much I love birds and sent me the ornament and a beautiful card.

***Then the sweet Stella from A Little Bit of the Things I Enjoy sent me a sweet card and little roses she always uses on her cards.  Can't wait to use them.  Thank you Stella.

Flourishes Timelss Tuesday/Life and Love

Hello my wonderful blog friends.  I had some time this afternoon to whip up a card for this weeks challenge at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday.  The challenge is to focus on the sentiment.  Well, I used this pretty sentiment from Flourishes Berry Sweet set.  I also dug out some pretty old Amy Butler DP.  Totally girly card here.  Love it!
Of course it was just getting cloudy when I went to take my picture.  It is hardly ever cloudy here.  I am hoping it doesn't look to over corrected.  Can you see the pink, grey, green, and browns going on in this patterned paper?  I used one of my mother's heart charms from her stash.

Cardstock: PTI/Rustic Cream,Spring Moss
DP: K and Company/Amy Butler
Stamps:Flourishes Berry Sweet
Ink: Memento/London Fog, Versa Magic/Pink Petunia

Waltzingmouse Waltz

Hello.  It is Monday again.  Oh my.  Well, I am late with this.  I actually made my card Saturday and couldn't figure out for the life of me how to sign up for the Waltz.  So here is my card.  This will be short and sweet.  I am off to work.
The theme this month is Fall/Harvest.  The only stamps I have are Christmas and the Labels frames.  So I had to use another company's apples.  :(

I put some Glossy Accents on the candy part of the apple to make them look a little more realistic.  I am going to goto  this great store called Chocolate Crocodile and buy my son's teacher a wonderful covered apple and give her this card.  They have at least 15 different covered apples.  I got one the other day that had caramel, pecans, and chocolate.  Oh was it good.  Took me 3 days to eat it though.  They are very large.

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI/Rusitc Cream
DP: Cosmo Cricit/Mitten Weather
Fabric: from my stash
Stamps: Waltzingmouse/Lables 10
Ink: PTI/ Plum Pudding, Memento/Lady Bug and Tuxedo Black
Seam Binding: Memrie Mare Etsy
Twine: PTI

Christmas Greetings/Cardabilities

Hello.  I finally got my Waltzingmouse stamps in the mail yesterday.  I couldn't wait to play.  I made 2 cards.  I am going to share one with you today.  I can't believe I am making Christmas cards already.  It is still in the 80's here.  It just feels wrong.  I love the frames that go so well with all the Spellbinders dies.  I am trying to get my hands on Labels 14.  They are back ordered everywhere.  Just a few no name places online have them.  I hate to order from a place I know nothing about.
I made this one using the sketch at Cardabilities.  Great sketch this week.  They have a whole new DT over there.  The most I have ever seen on any blog challenge site.  You should go see what the girls have made over there.
Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI/Rustic Cream
DP: Basic Grey/Wassail
Stamps: WM/Vintage Labels 10 and Compliments of the Season
Ink: Versa Magic/Spanish Olive, Memento/Tuxedo Black

card Patterns

Hello.  It is Saturday and that means it is time for me to share my card for this weeks sketch at Card Patterns.
We are sponsored by Prickly Pear rubber stamps.  I used these cute little cats.  Don't they just look like they are up to no good?  I decided to make a Halloween card with them.  I am a little short in my stash for Halloween cards.  I still have a couple to send out.  I better get on that fast!  It is just around the corner.
I used my Cuttlebug embossing folders again.  I am proud of myself.  I have so many things that I buy and put to the side and never use.  That is horrible!  I used some Basic Grey paper and PTI cardstock.  Look at the holes in this button.  Cute hu?

Thanks so much for stopping by.

2Sketches4You

Hello.  I told you I would be back.  I have another card to share with you today.  This one is for the sketch at 2Sketches4You.  I am feeling the pastels.  Can you tell?
I used another border embossing folder.  Love these!  Don't you look at my stitching!  I have the hardest time.  I guess I have a lead foot.  It zips through before I know it.  I can't find my "happy medium" on the pedal.  I have tried a few machines and my neighbors old Singer was the best for me to use.  It was slow and steady.

I keep using this Anniversary set from PTI.  I embellished it a little with some pretties.  A little doily piece, some satin ribbon, and pretty Prima flower.  Love this color combo.  You?

I am off to bed.  My son has a field trip tomorrow.  I will drop him off at school at 6:15 am.  Yuck!  He is going to an Aquarium and will be gone for 12 hours.  Too bad I have to work or that would be great crafting time.  LOL

Thanks for stopping by,
Heather

Tea and A Mouse

Hello.  I am back again to share my card I made the the sketch at Waltzingmouse.  I used my PTI stamps because I am still waiting for my first WM order.  Maybe today!  I can't wait.  I must not be mentally ready for fall.  I can't stop using pastels.  I made another pastel card I will share tomorrow.  ;)
I have been horribly neglecting my Cuttlebug embossing folders lately.  I decided to start using them again.  I am leaving them out so that I remember to use them.  This is the only new one I have bought recently.  I used it on a card last week.  Very pretty flourish design.
I also put a little bag inside and put a couple of green tea bags in there.  Isn't this cute?  Perfect little gift for someone sick or just because.  That is why I didn't put a tag on it yet with a sentiment.  I can add that when I decide who to give it to depending on the situation.
Supplies:
Cardstock:PTI/Sweet Blush, Rustic White
Stamps:Tea for Two
Ink: Memento/Tuxedo Black, PTI/Sweet Blush & Hawaiian Shores
Ribbon: Offrey
DP:My Minds Eye/Home, PTI/Bitty Dot Basics 2009
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder/Flourish
Die: PTI Matching set for Tea For Two
Buttin and Twine: PTI

Happy Fall

Hello my blog friends.  Are you having a wonderful week so far?  We should finally be cooling down a bit here.  I am so looking forward to that.  My poor son is covered in mosquito bites and his allergies are horrible here.  I have a sinus headache myself right now.  Anyway...I realized that I haven't made any fall cards yet.  I had better get them out quick.  I colored this jar of fall fillers a couple weeks ago and wasn't happy how it turned out.  I decided to go ahead and try to use.  I figured maybe it would look better all put together.
I saw Michelle's new Christmas Jar filler set.  It is very cute.  I wasn't planning on ordering this release from PTI since nothing really caught my eye.  But I realized I don't have very many Christmas stamps and that Jar Filler set has a lot of possibilities for cute tags and such.  I used the sketch at Taylored Expressions to get me started.  She has some cute new stamps sets on her release too.  There can almost be too many choices sometimes.
I am off to go check out the craft store and see if I spy any new goodies.  I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week.  I am going to try and make another card today.  I was dreaming of a card last night as I was trying to sleep.  Anyone else do that?  Or am I just crazy?  LOL

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI/Terracotta Tile, Rustic Cream, Ripe Avacado
Stamps: PTI/Friendship Jar Fall Fillers

Hi Sweetie/Flourishes

Hello.  I am back.  I couldn't resist playing along with Flourishes sketch challenge.  Especially since I got several new packs of their stamps.  I decided to use the blueberries.  Yummy!  These fruit stamps are so cute.  They remind me of a 50's kitchen.  I think that is why I keep using gingham and bolder colors with these stamps.

Let me tell you...blue Copics bleed just as much as red.  I had a time with this image.  I colored it 3 times before I was satisfied.  Not happy, but satisfied.  So that means no clicks to make the pics bigger.  LOL
I can't wait to see the new release coming.  I am horrible when it comes to new stamps.  I think I might be buying all my Christmas presents early.

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI/Kraft
Stamps:Flourishes/ Berry Sweet

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday

Hello every one.  I am back to share with you a card I made for the Timeless Tuesday sketch at Flourishes.
I used my new embossing folder from Cuttlebug called Victoria.  Very flourish looking  and pretty.
I used some very old Basic Grey paper called Urban Prairie.  Loved all the colors in this paper.  I tried to incorporate them into the image as much as possible.  The border punch is from EK Success.

Sorry this is short and sweet.  I have a card to make for this coming weeks Card Patterns sketch.  Have a wonderful day.

Miss Harriet/Cardabilities

Hello.  I am back to share a card I spent the afternoon making.  I would say it took about 2 1/2 hours to make.  Between sizing Miss Harriet and deciding what papers to use and what colors to color her with.  No test sample today.  Usually I test the whole image on a scrap piece of paper to make sure that is what I want.  This time I just jumped in feet first.
Claire from Watlzingmouse put up this sweet image of Miss Harriet.  I wanted to make her outfit different from all the other cards already posted.  I knew red and purple were out.  I found this new Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather 6x6 pad at my Local ss.  I loved the teal and purple colors together.

I am hooked on these Prima flower centers. They are amazing. I am also hooked on this PTI die for tags. It seems to fit most of my sentiments. I used the sketch from Cardablities again. It is a fabulous sketch and worked perfect for this image.

Can you tell I used Fun Flock on her pretty fuzzy cuffs?  Cotton Ball White is the color.  I have had this stuff for years and never use it.  I am not the best with my Copics.  I am still practicing with shading.  That seems to be my downfall.  What do you think?
These are a couple of pictures of my sweet little girl.  She loves to lay on my bed while I am crafting away.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
