Happy Anniversary

Happy New Year!  WOW, I can't believe it is 2014 already.  I have a CAS card to share with you.  Do you remember me telling you I made a few cards to go in a box for my MIL's Christmas present?  This was one of them.  I love this PTI stamp set.  As a matter of fact, my first published card in CARDS magazine was with this set.  The set is called Botanical Silhouettes, it was an anniversary stamp set back in 2010.  The sad thing about it is, it is no longer available.  That won't stop me from using it though.

You know I don't use bold colors often, but my MIL isn't much of a pastel kind of person so I really had her in mind when making this.  I wanted to keep it simple and have the stamped image take center stage and not patterned paper.

I am keeping this post short and sweet.  Here's to you all a Happy and Healthy New Year.

MFTWSC156

Hello and happy Monday!  How is the weather in your neck of the woods?  It is cold and snowy here.  That didn't stop my friend Marsha and I from getting together for lunch and then some crafty time.  We decided to play along with the MFTWSC sketch.  My sweet blog friend Lisa and I had decided to play along via the internet as well.

I am in love with my Sweet Roses stamp set from MFT.  I always seem to use these flowers and not the others in the set.  While I still have it out on my desk, I am going to use them next.

Marsha brought over her SU ink pads and let me use them.  I don't have a lot of colored ink pads, just a few I picked up at my local craft store.  I have been doing a lot of coloring the last few years and didn't really need a lot of colored ink pads.

Feel Better Soon

Good morning!  Have you had a good week so far?  I finally got my Christmas tree and decorations put away yesterday.  I am always in a hurry to get everything back to normal within a few days after Christmas. We had a high of 50 yesterday, so that was perfect timing to get my cleaning accomplished.  Now I can breathe a sigh of relief.  The weather dropped significantly overnight.  I woke up and it is only 8 and it will be dropping even more throughout the day today.  Can you say BRRR?!

On to the card I am sharing today.  I played along with the Sweet Sunday girls.  Karen always has some awesome sketches.  I did take a creative liberty and turned the oval horizontally.  It worked out better for my pretty roses.

Party Balloons

Hello!  How is your week so far?  I had some fun in my craft room Christmas day, stamping away with my new MFT goodies.  One of the sets I ordered was Party Balloons and the companion dies.  I have been seeing a lot of stamping on Natural cardstock lately and had to give it a try.  I absolutely LOVE the look!

I made a box of various occasion cards for my MIL for Christmas.  I figured that she would need several birthday cards through out the year.  This is one of the cards that I put in the box.  Over this next week I will be showing the different cards that I made.

As you can see below, I popped up the frame using some dimensional adhesive.  The dimensional adhesive on the balloons is slightly thicker than the ones used on the frame.  This allows them to sit nicely above the frame.

Seize the Birthday has an "Anything Goes" challenge right now.

Merry Christmas

I am squeezing in one last Christmas card for 2013.  This is another card created for the Flourishes Christmas catalog.  Flourishes has some of the most beautiful Christmas stamp sets available HERE on the website.  I made a card using this image last Christmas and my MIL loved it, so this one was sent to her.  I hope she likes it.

How is your holiday to-do list looking so far?  I have one last present to wrap and cookies to make tomorrow.  I had intended to make them today, but after I spent 2 hours at the gym, I was completely out of energy.  They MUST get made tomorrow!

After Christmas, I am looking forward to crafting during my two week break.  There are a lot of fun challenges I have been wanting to play along with.  We go back to work/school on the 2nd of January, so time is on my side for now.

Make Merry

WOW!  It feels like forever since I've posted.  With Christmas quickly approaching, I have been scrambling to get presents bought and wrapped.  Where did the time go between Thanksgiving and now?  I swear I am going to be more prepared next year.  I don't like all this last minute stuff, it stresses me out!

I have a card to share with you that I made several months ago for the Flourishes Christmas catalog.  I absolutely love this beautiful stamp set.  I haven't used lace in quite a while and I love the feminine look it adds to a card.  The Spellbinders dies with the lace like patterns go so well with it.  Don't ya think?

I am trying to get a widget for my blog for Bloglovin.  I need to paste this here in order to claim my blog.
