Hello. A few days ago, I received an email asking for permission to share my some of my work over on the Weekly Scrapper blog. It is always an honor when someone enjoys your work and wants to share it, so I said yes. I would love it if you would stop by and take a look.
Thanks so much for stopping by,

It's Good to Pause
I have a card to share with you that I made for this month's Color Palette Challenge at MFT. It is rather CAS because I had a harder time with these colors. Maybe I just didn't have much mojo that day. Do you ever have that problem?

Here is the Color Palette for this month at MFT.

Poppy Birthday
Finally, a day full of sunshine! Well, not actually. The morning started off with a layer of freezing rain, then a round of thunder snow that dropped about four inches in a matter of two hours. School was delayed two hours to start with and by the time I was ready to leave, I received another call stating that school was canceled. By 9:30 am, the sun came out and started to melt all the evidence of the crazy morning away. I was left with sunshine pouring into my craft room and my chair was calling my name. It turned out to be a beautiful day!

With that being said, I have been inspired to use a lot more color in my designs as of late. I found this beautiful inspiration photo on Pinterest that I was dying to use. Also, THIS beautiful card from Cindy was the basis of my design.
I am still shocked that the only white on this card is the flowers and sentiment strip!

Here is the photo that inspired me. You can find the original blog post HERE.

MFTWSC 163
I don't normally post this close together, but I am running out of time. I have made a few cards the last few days and didn't realize the sketch challenge is coming to a close in a matter of hours. I used one of my stencils and some modeling paste to achieve this textured background. I have been itching to use some of my pretty and horribly neglected flower die-namics.
Can you believe I haven't been stitching on most of my cards lately? A year ago, it would have killed me not to stitch on my cards.
Here is the current MFTWSC sketch.

Homespun Birdhouse
Hello again! I always look forward to my weekend workouts, but the last three Saturdays it has snowed and I was unable to get to the gym. I decided to use my time crafting away instead. I got on the computer and looked around at the various challenge blogs. I found a sketch at Cardabilites that would work great with my MFT Homespun Birdhouse die-namics.
Can you believe this is only the third time I have used these dies? Why? I have no idea! I really need to start looking through my dies to see what I have neglected to use. I was inspired by the distressed look with a little bit of script peaking out, in the sketch photo. I stamped the script from Pretty Poppies on grapesicle cardstock. I then used some gesso to give it a white washed effect. I was going for a little more of a distressed look, so I took my Tim Holtz sander and went back and forth over the dried cardstock. I like how it took off a layer of gesso in some areas.
Even the little birdie got some script stamping on him. I wish I had added a black pearl to his eye so it would stand out better. He looks like an eyeless bird. Ha!
