We hope you've had a great summer Flourishes Fans! Now as we see the days turn the corner into deep blue skies, colorful leaves and cooler nights we see that Autumn is nearing! Many of us get back into "stamping shape" in the fall and this is the perfect challenge for you, turning your fingers to some paper crafting fun! In just a few short days we'll be unveiling our beautiful September Release of FIVE sets, and playing in this challenge is your chance to win our whole September Release! Want to know how? All you need to do is create a Shaped Card OR a 3D Item. You can either create a card using any non-standard shape (we encourage you to think creatively), or a lovely box, ornament, home decor item, or anything 3D....it's all up to you!
I chose to make a matching card and tea bag holder for the teacher of the classroom I am in. It is fall and allergies are in full swing here. She has had all the horrible allergy symptoms for 2 weeks now, so I thought a couple tea bags would be nice. These flowers are actually Purple Cone Flowers, but I turned them into some Black Eyed Susans by coloring them in yellows. These are all over in Iowa this time of year and with the fall colored papers, this is my version of a fall creation.
As you can see, I am not the best at making shaped cards, so I kinda cheated. I cut a 5x5 square card and rounded the corners, then adhered the shaped layers to the front. You would have never known if I wouldn't have shown you the back. ;)
This is the side and inside view of the holder. It fits 2 teabags perfectly, one on each side. Hard to tell by the top photo, but it is tied together with some very flexible sheer ribbon.

I love your cheater's version of a shaped card! I wasn't going to do the challenge, cuz I'm horrible at them, but I might CASE your idea instead! : )
Beautiful set Heather!! I love your fall dp and colors, very soft and feminine. The card is beautiful with the black eyed susans and the fun little tea bag holder, perfect for the teacher :)

Heather, this is so soft and beautiful!! Your card is a perfect compliment to the sentiment and included gift of tea! And I make my shaped cards the same way sometimes. ;)
So soft and pretty Heather! Great gift idea :) !!!
Wow, so beautiful!
What a sweet thing to do for the teacher! Just receiving that gorgeous card will make her feel better--the tea is a bonus! Thanks for showing your "cheat." Great idea!!!

These are so pretty, Heather. My neighbor is a tea drinker and I need a thank you for her. I'm definitely going to add a tea bag holder to the card.

Sneeze, sneeze, cough, cough....I sure could use it!

So pretty! Great job on both!
This is so pretty, Heather! Warm colors and a beautiful image. I like your tea bag holder design. I'm all for the faux shaped card. So much easier to cut!
What a sweet project! Call me a little crazy but the papers paired with those colors, I'm feelin' a little Holly Hobbie vibe...KWIM?
