With Sympathy

Hello again!  I feel horrible for not being around lately.  I have been working more the last two weeks.  I haven't found much crafting time...especially visiting time.  I finally got a card made just for fun tonight. Woohoo!

I used the sweet set from Flourishes called Year In Flowers 2.  This image is the Tiger Lilly.  I pulled up a pretty pciture from the internet to be my guid for the color of the lilly.  It didn't come out quite like I wanted.  I am okay with it though.  I am waiting for a bunch of new Copics to come in the mail.  Since they come from CA, I guess I will be waiting a few days.  I ordered a bunch of pinks and greens.  Those seem to be the colors I use most.

I had some Lillies just like these in my yard in Iowa.  I dug up all my flowers and gave them to my best freind and neighbor when I moved.  I could stand to leave them and have someone not appreciate them as much as I did.  I spent most of my spring and summer out in the yard careing for my flowers.  I added more and more every year.  I even gave a bunch to my Mother in Law.

Since I am in the south this spring, I bought a bunch of flower seed packages and I am going to plant them straight in the ground.  You can get a bigger variety of color if you grow them from seed.  I can't wait for them to grow.

I used this cute sletch from My Favorite Things.  I am loving the sweet stamps that are in my Flourishes set called Year In Flowers 2.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Heather

  2. That's another pretty card. i miss your updating more regularly. I like the papers you used on that card, too. Lillies grow so well in the South. I remember have to pull up tons of them at my parents house because there were too many in their little area of the patio. They just keep on spreading! I think they were the canna lily.

  3. So pretty, Heather! Love these soft colors and those lilies! Glad I'm not the only one behind on visiting!! I haven't missed any of your cards, though! Love them all, but for me the CR84FN ones were stand-outs--especially the one with the grey and violet--LOVED it!!

in the corner of my flower bed
it was an Easter flower given
to me by my daughter, Amy
the first year, one large stem grew
the next year ~ two very large ones
    full of the gorgeous flowers
the third year there were three
hubby had to put support fence
around it because of the weight
i'm wondering what will come up

  8. Stunning. As I don't know what your lily inspiration pic was, and that it didn't come out like you intended only means that your lily's ended up being one of those happy accidents that really works. I really am digging that slightly illuminated color of them. Reminds me of the type of shabby-licious street art I'd like to see. LOL (No, I'm not on crack, just writting like it). Seriously, I love this card and your rather unconventional yet gorgeous take on it. Here's hoping you get more crafty time soon! Can't wait.
