Here are the details:
This week is IN the BAG! Use brown grocery bag paper on your card or project. You can use a brown lunch bag to create a gift item or small scrapbook album. Or, you can use sections of the bag to create a background, border, or accent piece for your card or project. Looking forward to seeing what you create!
I am not so sure how I feel about all the peach. I knew exactly what I wanted to do, it just didn't turn out that way. What do you think? I used more of the Basic Grey Sweet Threads paper and I used the brown bag as a border with my PTI banner border dies. The Spellbinders die I used is a Scrap Mart Exclusive. I also used Copics BV00, BV02, VO4, YG03, G21, G24, YR21, N0, 0. Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen. Seam binding is from Blue Bird Lane Etsy. Pearls are Kaiser Craft.
These are my Zinnias in the back yard. They are finally starting to bloom. I planted a sherbet mix, but I haven't seen the hot pink blooms yet. Maybe those are late bloomers. Just as I went outside to take a picture of these pretties, my camera battery died. So this was taken after then sun went down.
These are just close ups of the colors. I found out when I was living in Iowa how much the sweet little Gold Finches LOVE these when the heads go to seed. I also planted Sunflowers for them to eat on in the fall as well. They are not quite blooming yet. I will take more pictures as things start to open. The dry conditions here haven't made for the prettiest of flowers. I water every night, but they still don't look as good as my flowers in Iowa. You want to talk about rain? Move to Iowa....we got plenty! My flowers were always so beautiful there. Sigh...
I based my card today off the sketch at Card Patterns.

I like the peach! I think it's a pretty color to use with the lavender, and it goes very well with the brown paper bag, too. Pretty card! Love the zinnia photos, too.

ReplyDeleteWow those zinnias are amazing flowers, such a diversity of colour. I'm the wrong person to comment on the colour combo as I tend to be a pretty boring stamper (been working on that) but I would probably have used yellow instead of the peach.
