Thank You / Sweet Sunday

Thank goodness it is Friday!  It seems time is flying by lately.  I just found out that my son will have to be bused to a new Middle School because the one he was going to is overcrowded.  I don't have a problem with the school, it is brand new and in a good part of town, the problem I have is that he will be on the bus for a long time each way.  They will bus the kids to the normal school he was supposed to attend then bus them to the new school.  CRAZY, right?  What the heck?  They just announced this 2 weeks before school starts and have not even notified the parents yet or asked for our input on the situation.  I found this out through the grapevine...and it is true.   The new Superintendent made the decision this week and it has a lot of parents upset.  Soo I guess I have no say in the matter.

So, I made a card today using the new sketch at Sweet Sunday.  I knew it was perfect for one of my new favorite PTI sets called Botanical Silhouettes and my beautiful Melissa Frances paper that is being horribly neglected.

I need to get some new pink ink.  This one is so light that it doesn't even show in the photo.  I have my eyes on some of the ink sets at Stampin' Up.  I think that will be one of my next purchases.  I used some Tim Holtz Tattered Rose distress Stickles on my flowers.  Heck I am impressed that I could sew along the tails of the piece of paper going vertically.

Thanks for stopping by,
Heather

  1. Heather this card is beautiful! I love the new BB PTI set, and have it on my wish list. I also wanted to add that if you are looking for some new ink A Muse Studio has quick dry pigment ink that is awesome, seriously. I was totally faithful to SU ink till I gave the new AS pads a try. If you would like more info please let me know.

  3. Your card is just beautiful! I love how soft it looks. I was bussed to a middle school many miles away in a bad section... but the bus ride was not a problem...the school we got bussed to was the problem. Sounds like he will be going to a good school!

  5. Beautiful Heather .. so soft and pretty ... sorry about the problem with the school ... here there is a school being changed to an academy with new rules etc., .. no one was asked their opinions ... so the kids decided to stage a sit down in the play yard until they eventually had to be listened to ...
Hope things work out for your son ...

  7. Wowsers this card is lovely Heather! I love that set and how you used it here.

So sorry about the bus issue. My sister is a middle school teacher and the board NEVER tells them anything. Information is always found out the hard way. So sad for your son, to have to sit on that bus for hours, makes for one long day.

  14. Heather, your card is gorgeous, and I think the pink is a perfect fit for the dp's you used. The Stickles are a nice touch, too. Sorry to hear about the school situation. I hope everything works out okay, but in the meantime, it sure is frustrating to be kept in the dark until the last minute! Happy Weekend!!!
