happy BIRTHDAY TO YOU

I finally had some time to make something just for fun.  It has been quite some time since that has happened.    I decided to make a card for this weeks Make It Monday.
The challenge is:

Make It Monday #55: Creating Large Frames

With Smaller Frame Stamps

What I did was stamp the frame 2x's overlapping each other using the new Anniversary set Pretty Peonies.  I then colored and fussy cut the open image flower and leaves.  In the video Dawn completely covered up the line between the frames, but I like the overlapping part to show a little.

Side view so you can see that I raised the image with some pop dots.

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI/ Rustic White, Kraft
Patterned Paper: Girls' Paperie,
Stamps: PTI/Pretty Peonies
Ink: Memento/ Rich Cocoa, Tuxedo Black
Copics: RV32, RV34, G21, G24
Dies: PTI Banner Border Dies
Ribbon: PTI/Autumn Rose satin

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday

Hello.  How are you doing this week?  I have been super busy working behind the scenes on my upcoming projects.  Today though, I am sharing the card I made for this weeks Flourishes Timeless Tuesday.  Tammy is our challenge hostess this week and she is challenging us to Create something inspired by country living.... a farm-theme, gardening, country patterns (gingham, plaid, calico), quilts, wildflowers... the possibilities are endless!

I was so inspired by Wanda's beautiful quilt cards found HERE.  I just had to make one.  Let me tell you...she made it look easy.  This baby took me 3 hours to make.  Those squares are are only 1x1 and then I had to hand cut them in half. OMW.   It was hard to get them all lined up properly.  I do love how it turned out though.  The sentiment is from Moments in Time, and the paper is the new Echo Park paper called This & That Grateful.

My MIL is a quilter and I figured I would send this to her.  I am a little late with her birthday card, but I hope she likes it.  It made me think of her when I saw it.

Sending Prayers - CR84FN49

Hello again.  I have been super busy lately making DT samples and have not had much time to post the "just for fun" cards I enjoy making too.  I have 3 days off next week so hopefully I will have a little crafty time for myself. Today I am sharing a card I made for CR84FN.  The new colors are Yellow, Kraft, Gray.

My dear sweet blog friend Stella's FIL recently passed away.  Sympathy cards are not one of the occasions I normally have sitting around.  So, I took this weeks colors and made this for her and her family.

I love my new Mat Stack 5 stamp and die set from PTI.  The sentiment is from the new Beautiful Butterflies set and the ovals are from Limitless Layers Ovals die set.  The paper is a combination of companies.

Timeless Tuesday / Corner Bookmark

Hello my sweet blog friends.  I am back to share with something I made for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday.  This week Mona is our challenge hostess and she has asked us to make a corner bookmark.  You can look at the SCS tutorial HERE if you need some directions.

I used some MME paper and pretty lace trim.  The seam binding is thin and will lay flat when inside a book.   The set I used from Flourishes is Year In Flowers 1 .

Since Spring is just around the corner I decided to color some pretty Daffodils.  Daylight savings time isn't too far away either.  My son made sure to check the calendar to see when Spring and time change was coming.  I  can't wait for longer days....that means pretty flowers and singing birds.

Faber Castell review

I have a project to share with you.  I recently joined the Product Review Team at SCS.  This month we are featuring products from Design Memory Craft put out by Faber Castell.  You can find the full review HERE on SCS.

I decided to make a pretty shabby chic wall hanging using my new MME papers, it was pretty enough to use as a background.  I started with a 6x6 cardboard base.  The vintage butterfly was found on the internet, then I sized it to fit my project, and colored using Faber Castell Gelatos.  These are such a neat medium to work with.  These cute little chap stick sized sticks are infused with color that blend smoothly and transforms into sheer color when mixed with water.

If you look closely you can see I used the watercolor effect and mixed with water to give it a more sheer appearance.  I also mixed a little more color than water and painted it on to the flower to give the petals a deeper color than they already had.  The swirl is a Want 2 Scrap chipboard piece that I applied Faber Castell Gesso to and sprinkled with glitter.  A little lace, buttons, and distressing, and I was finished.

So, what do you think?  I love the way it turned out.  I see a lot more of these in my future.  I got so involved in making this that I was up until 1:30 am!

Thanks so much for your support,
Heather

Best Wishes

I am popping in to share a card I made for this weeks CR84FN color challenge.  I was recently asked if I had ever made a CAS card.  I think I might have made one.  So I decided to go CAS with this one.  This is about as plain as I can get, and I still think it looks naked.

I used one of my Cuttlebug border embossing folders and put a little decorative edge on the bottom.  I found these pretty new Reccollections flowers at Michales the other day.  It had a small pearl in the center that I wasn't so fond of, so I ripped it out and added a Basic Grey flower button to the center.

Timeless Tuesday 155

Have I ever mentioned how much I love Flourishes stamps?  The images are always so realistic and beautifully designed.  I inked up the pretty Humming Along set for this weeks Timeless Tuesday.  Makiko  is our challenge hostess, and she is asking us to use a Bird image and/or elements for your creation.

I used my new MME papers from the Miss Caroline collection/dolled up/princess.  Can you see that old EK Success border punch?  It has been horribly neglected in a drawer for quite some time.  It is so feminine and pretty, I just had to use it.

I always have a hard time coloring these sweet little birds.  The pictures on Google images are all so different. I chose a more peachy color scheme for the flowers and card with a little green for the bird.  We don't get many Humming Birds here.  They migrate in the late summer through the Eastern part of the state, so we get a few stragglers here in the middle.

Just Because

I am so happy today.  Archivers' got all the new My Minds Eye 6x6 paper packs in. As soon as I got off work, I went  to go pick them up.  They are all so very pretty.  I am sure I will be using them a lot.

I LOVE the pastel colors on this pack.  I used the new Follow your Heart/Be Happy along with one of my all time favorite PTI sets called Butterfly Dreams and Mat Stack 2

I added some Stickles in Stardust and a couple baby pearls from Want 2 Scrap to the colored butterfly.

Can you tell I was a little excited to get the new papers?  I had to get them all.

I played along with the SFYTT:
