CR84FN 13/ For You Friend

Hello my sweets.  I had a lovely day today.  The temps were close to 70 and the sun was shining.  My son and I took a 2-3 mile walk on the walking/biking trail in our neighborhood and stopped at the park in the middle for a little break/play time.  I was shocked how many people were out.   I also think everyone in the neighborhood owns a dog except for us.  The big park in the middle also has a dog park and disc golf course so it attracts a lot of people.  The birds were singing and I got a little natural Vitamin D that was greatly needed after this cold winter we have had.  Now it looks like it will be 30 next weekend.  I am bummed.

I am back tonight to share with you my card for this weeks color challenge at CR84FN.  I have to admit these colors together are not ones I would normally use.  The turquoise and brown yes, but not the red.  I seriously don't have any red patterned papers.  I do like how it turned out though.  Just a touch of red.

I used my new stamp set from PTI called Mat Stack 2.  I love all the pretty scroll designs in this set.  I also decided to use the same LO of a card I made a while back that you can find HERE.
The butterflies stamped at the bottom are from the PTI set called Butterfly Dreams (one of my all time favs) and the heart is from the set Just For You.

Don't forget to stop by the other girls blogs and see what they have created for your viewing pleasure.

You Inspire Me/Card Patterns

Hello my sweets.  I am just getting over a nasty stomach bug that ripped through our family faster than anything I have ever seen.  Each day another person got sick.  First my son on Monday, then my dad and husband the next day and then my mother and I Wednesday night.  I have never seen something that contagious before.  My son was only around my parents for an hour on Monday and they ended up sick too.  YUCK!!
Any who...on to my card.
I made this card using the new sketch at Card Patterns.  I actually made this card days ago and just ended up posting other cards.  Can you tell I am loving my new Spellbinders Dies?  I have wanted this Lacy Circles die since it came out.  I am not waiting so long to get the new release this time.  I found a great place to get Spellbinders Dies and Just Rite stamps for a good price and free shipping Scrap Mart.  I like to share when I find something or somewhere I like to get supplies.  I love it when others share too.
I also finally used one of my new flowers from Reccollections at Michaels  I also used my Craft Seam Binding from Martha Stewart.  They had all her ribbon on Clearance.  I never even saw the seam binding before that day.  How sad.  I have also been putting off using my Fine Linen cardstock from PTI.  I loved the ribbon and button colors...but not the cardstock color so much.  It worked very well for the October Afternoon papers since they are heavily aged already.

I am off to take a nap.  I am still weak from that darn bug.  I hope you all have a wonderful day.  It is warming up here and sunny.  We are going to have temps around 56 by Saturday.  I can't wait.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Heather

PTI Blog Hop/You are In My Thoughts

Hello my sweets.  I finally got something made for the PTI Blog Hop.  I had way too  many stamps that have been neglected.  I used the All About You set.  I have never even used this one.  Horrible hu?
There are so many wonderful sentiments in this set.  That is why I bought it.  Then I put it on the shelf and never used it.  I used my Basic Grey Basics Manilla and My Minds Eye Home papers.  I glittered up that pretty flower using some Martha Stewart Crystal Fine.  I also used my Copics R20 Blush, R32 Peach, and E00 Pale Fruit Pink in the order from darkest for the center to lightest to the edge.
I am honestly ashamed of how many sets that I haven't used in so long.  I have been trying to pull out the old stuff and bring it back.  Nothing is worse than dusty stamps.  So sad!
I also used the sketch at Sweet Sunday sketches.   Perfect sketch for what I wanted to do.
Thanks so much for stopping by
Have a wonderful week

I Love Being Your Friend Because...

I love being your friend because we can talk for hours.  I love that we both share the same interests and ideas.  I love that we have kids the same age.  I love that we could go to dinner every Friday night and go shopping at all the craft stores.  I love that our husbands went to school together.  I love that you would do anything to help me out if I needed you.  I loved that you shared your family holidays with my little family when we lived so far from my whole family.  You are a true friend forever and I miss you.

I made this Valentine's Day card for my BFF back in Iowa.  I hate that we had to move so far away.  She was my craft buddy, shopping partner, and a listening ear when I needed one.  You must have one best girlfriend.  Life is miserable without one.
I used my pretty Basic Grey Bittersweet and Basics Manilla papers.  I also used my NEW Spellbinders Eyelet Circles die.  This is the first time I have colored with my Copics on Kraft paper.  I really like how it turned out.  I used a white gel pen for the head pins and flower.

A little tutorial for you all:
I decided to show you all how I stitch on my cards.  There are 2 ways you can do it.  Sew all layers through the cardstock, or I sew the paper layers through the first layer of cardstock only.
See how it looks on the back.
Then I take my craft tweezers and pull the strings through to the back, and trim.
Then I adhere the top layer to the main cardstock card base.  Then you have a nice clean card on the inside without all the stitches in there.  This, I found out by trail and error.  Lots of error on my part.  :)

This is the fabulous sketch I used from Mojo Monday.  I also made this card for this weeks challenge at Just Rite called "Love is in the Air".  They have an amazing prize package up for the grand prize winner.
I will be back tomorrow to share another card.  I am on a roll.  I love being ahead.
Thanks so much for stopping by

Heather

Thinking About You

Hello my sweets.  I am thinking about you.  Can you tell I am toally hooked on this beautiful Basic Grey Capella paper?  Swoon!  I just ordered a bunch of new goodies you will be seeing soon.  Some very needed updating in my Spellbinders, stamps, and pretty papers.  I am so excited.  I can't wait for them all to arrive.  It will be like Christmas all over again.
I used my new Spellbinders Lacy Circles and PTI set called Embellishments along with the sentiment from Waltzingmouse.  Finished off with some pretty lace from Spare Parts and ribbon from PTI called Fine Linen.
Have I mentioned how happy I am that my sewing machine is working again?  I love how pretty the edges look stitched.  Now I just wish I had a sewing machine with some cooler stitches.  See...there I go again.  Wanting more stuff.  Am I crazy or what?
I played along with the girls over at Waltzingmouse.  I know I don't really have "the wave", but I try not to take them so literally or I will go crazy.  Been there...done that.  Not doing it anymore.  So lace it is.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I actually got more craft time in today so I am ahead this week.  I will be back to share in a day or two.  Until then, have a wonderful week.
Hugs,
Heather

Just Thinking About You/ CR84FN12

Hello my sweets.  I have had a long week and I am happy to have some time to craft and post my card for this weeks colors at CR84FN.  These are some of my favorite colors and I actually had a time getting something together.  When I did, it came together beautifully.  I am pleased with how it turned out.  Are you?

I used my favorite butterfly set from Layers of Color  called Butterfly Collector.  I know you have seen me use this before.  It is perfect for shading and some glitter.  I stamped the butterfly in Rich Cocoa from Memento....one of my fav inks to use.  Just softens up the image a little better than using black ink.
Some pretty Pink Pearls bling from Want 2 Scrap and seam binding with a pretty Prima flower finish off the embellishments.  I used the sketch at Card Patterns, but missed the cut off to link up.  I didn't think ahead of time, that by the time I post, it would be too late.  Oh well.  It is a great sketch anyway.
Look at this wonderful inspiration graphic.  Swoon!  I would love to see what you all create.  Make sure you link up at CR84FN.
I actually have another card that I made today.  You will have to come back Monday and see what I have for you.  :)

Thanks for stopping by.  Make sure to go check out what the other designers have.  You will fall off your chair like Stella does all the time.  That poor girl needs a new chair now.  hehe

Hugs,

I HEART U

Hello my sweets.  I made a very shabby Valentine to share with you all.  I saw the sketch over at Mojo Monday and just had to play along.  That, and my very sweet and SO very talented team mate at CR84FN Stephanie, from Hand Krafted by Stephanie just made DT over there.  I am very happy for her...and jealous too.  hehe
These Basic Grey Bittersweet papers are the only Valentine papers I own right now.  I can't find anything anywhere.  All the online stores are out of everything I want.  Very frustrating.  I did find this very shabby/vintage pack of die cuts from K & Company called Valentine Ephemera.  Lots of glittery die cuts in this bag of goodies.
I am still missing my light bulb to my other light for my light tent.  So I have a little shadow on the left.  Don't look!!  I am going to have to order those too.  Sigh....
I love looking at this card.  So pink, shabby, feminine, and me.  I wanted to say thank you to all of you for all your sweet comments lately.  I have been trying so hard to catch up with everyone.  If I haven't stopped by lately...I will be there soon.  I promise.  Have a wonderful week.  I have to work the next three days so I don't think I will be back with anything to share until Saturday night.  Who knows.  Maybe I can squeeze some time in.
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit me
Hugs,
Heather

True Romance Awaits/ CR84FN 11

Hello my sweets.  Have you had a good weekend so far?  It is still cold and warming very slowly.  I am still freezing my rear off.  So, while I was freezing I stayed cozy in my crafty loft making cards.  I finally got all the boxes unpacked in my craft room.  Yay for me!!
Here is my Valentine card for my dear hubby.  He rarely looks here, so I am betting he wont see this.  he he.  The colors this week at CR84FN are perfect for you to get a start on your Valentines cards.  I so enjoyed looking at every one's cards last week.   There were so many amazing entries.  I love watching the numbers of participants grow.  So please join me again this week, along with the rest of the talented Design Team.
I didn't have much in the way of red patterned paper, so I used one of my many neglected PTI sets for the bottom portion of the card.  I found some of my Making Memories goodies from 2 years ago called Love Notes and used them for the focal point of the card.  It was nice making something with very little stamping.
So off you go to see what the rest of the girls have for you.  :)

Love Is The Thread That Binds Us Together

Hello my sweets.  Have you had a good week so far?  Well, my son has had the whole week off from school because of the little amount of snow we got overnight Sunday.  I guess there are no plows to plow the roads so we just have to wait for it to melt.  We did have a very sunny day today and it melted a good bit of the snow, but it is going to be 11 degrees F tonight and what melted will be frozen ice in the morning.  Sooo...I stayed in, made some Cranberry Orange muffins and had a big cup of coffee with my son and we watched Martha Stewart.  hehe  Then I decided to make a pretty card that can definitely pass for a Valentines card if I want.
Remember my post on Saturday where I told you that you would be seeing more of my "old stuff"?  Well, I pulled out my Just Rite set that I only used one time.  I love this set and I am just blown away that I only used it once.  I am not doing this anymore.  If money grew on trees I suppose I wouldn't mind.  I am a great gardener ya know.  Too bad they don't make money trees.
I saw a few girls use this sketch and loved the whole layout of it.  So I got out my oh so pretty and soft toned Basic Grey Capella paper and my Just Rite Stitched with Love set and went to town.  What do you think?   Like it?
Here is the fabulous sketch that Karen has for you over at Sweet Sunday.  You have until 10 pm Friday Mountain time if you make to make a card for this sketch.  So hop to girls!!  :)

To My Friend

Hello my sweets.  I am totally bummed.  I broke one of my new light tent light bulbs.  I knocked over the light and it burnt out.  I almost cried.  I can't find a bulb that works properly at my local Home Depot.  I guess I am going to have to order some.  So until then you will have to stick with me here and look at my not so great photos again.  Sigh!

This card is for the sketch at Flourishes.  I am getting in at the last minute.  The challenge ends in the morning.  Whew!  I used the stamp set from Flourishes called From The Garden.   A little Basic Grey paper from the stack called Sugared, Seam Binding from Memrie Mare, and Pink Pearls from Want 2 Scrap.
I am still fuming over the light bulb.  I hope I don't have to wait very long for it to come in.

***I have had so many people comment on my new Blog design and how pretty it is.  Well...my new sweet blog friend Viola designed this for me.  You have got to go to her blog and check it out.  She does some stunning work with lots of shabby chic details.  You won't be disappointed.  Tell her I sent you when you go visit.  :)

Thank You/ CR84FN 10

Hello my sweet blog friends.  Are you having a great weekend so far?  We have a forecast of up to 8 inches of snow and everyone is running around wiping all the grocery stores of all the food.  I am so ready for spring.  I don't want any more snow.

It is time for the next color challenge at CR84FN.  I thought this dress form inside this adorable WM frame was so sweet.  I have been seeing dress forms all over blog land again and decided it was time to get mine back out.  I am horrible about buying stamps and only using them once.  You are going to see some more of my collection soon.  I sometimes feel like as soon as the next new stamps sets come out that I can't use my older ones because they just aren't cool anymore.  That isn't so.  I have noticed at PTI that they are bringing out some older sets and having the DT use them with new sets.  I like that a lot.  We spend a lot of $$ on our supplies for them to just sit there and collect dust.  Don't you agree?

I used a couple different stamps lines here.  I have the Waltzing Mouse Holiday Labels, the dress form is Unity that I bought at Archivers last year...and the sentiment is from PTI.  I dressed up the dress form a little.  Some Le Creme Baby Pearls from Want 2 Scrap and satin ribbon for the sash.
Look at this beautiful inspiration photo.  Doesn't it just make you want to run and create?  I love the soft colors and bright light in the picture.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Heather

Bring Beautiful Back/Vintage Beauty

It is Bring Beautiful Back time at Flourishes and the challenge this month is:
Vintage Beauty: What’s old is new in stamping. With lace, buttons and a beautiful stitched edge, we know card makers can create beautiful things with a vintage feel!
Oh I think this challenge was made for me. These are all things that I usually put in every card. This challenge was right up my alley.  The stamp set I used was the Butterfly and Blossoms  set.  I used this set recently, but used the larger size of the Clematis vine and pretty butterfly.
I  tried tried to grow Clematis when I lived in Iowa.  Unfortunately the deer loved it and I always found it chewed to the ground along with my Hostas.  It grows like crazy here in AL and even comes back out for a second show in the fall.  I think I will try 2 different varieties and grow them up my big arbor in the backyard.  I will take some pictures this spring when I plant them.

I used some pretty bling from Want 2 Scrap in Pink.  Love how it looks on the side of my Spellbinders frame.  Pair that with some lace, pretty buttons, some satin ribbon, and  you have Vintage Beauty.

I know most of my followers love vintage, so play along and I can't wait to see what you create.  You don't have to have Flourishes stamps to play along.
