I believe in you

It is week 2 of the beautiful CR84FN colors.  I love anything that involves the color pink!  You have a few more days to play along with these colors.  We have changed the time frame that the challenge is open so make sure to pay attention to the closing date.  I hate when I don't look and I am late!  I have done that a few times.

I used the darling Fishtail Banner Die Namics and the Who's That Girl: Chooses Hope stamp set.  That cute twine is Pink Sorbet from the Twinery found in the MFT store.

If you follow my blog regularly you will remember that my mom passed away a year ago in June.  Well, my father has a new girlfriend who he adores and she makes him very happy.  He informed me the other day that she just found out she has Breast Cancer, so I made this for her.  I tell ya, the older I get the more scared I become of all this Cancer that seems to be around everywhere.  Has it always been like this and i just did not realize it because I was younger?  I have so much Cancer that runs in both sides of my family, I am terrified!  My husband, son, and I went vegetarian after we found out my mom had Brain Cancer.  We have recently gone mostly vegan as well.  I do all I can do to keep myself healthy.  It is a scary world out there!

I decided to play along with the MFT Guest Designer contest going on now.  They have some of the best sketches ever!

Happy 4th of July

I finally had some fun crafty time just for myself today and I loved it!  I pulled out my PTI Vintage Picnic set and stamped away.  The 4th of July is right around the corner and I needed to get crackin'.

My BFF and I are going to see Magic Mike tonight.  I am not a big movie goer but this one sure has got me interested.  I am off to dry my hair and paint my face on.  I will let you know how it was! ( We were disappointed in how the story line ended.  It left you asking a lot of questions, and if I had it to do over again I would wait until it came out on video.)

I used various patterned papers from My Minds Eye.  I keep a scrap basket sitting by my desk and I always go for that first.  Lucky for me I found all I needed in my scrap bin.  I colored my image and used some Stickles glitter for the stars.  The die is from MFT.

I used the cute sketch at Sweet Stop sketches for a little inspiration.

Happy Birthday

It has been one long week for me.  I am not sure about you, but for me, this summer has been super busy.  Between work and everything else I feel like I am constantly chasing my tail.  I did get in my craft room the other day and made my card for the newest CR84FN colors for the week.

We also need to wish  Mona Happy Birthday today.  She does an amazing job putting this challenge together each week.  Please make sure you stop by and wish her a happy day.  Happy Birthday Mona!  Thanks for all you do and for being a great friend. I am honored that I get to work with you week after week.

I used my new Royal Rose and leaf Die-Namics dies.  I had been waiting very patiently for them to be back in stock at My Favorite Things.  The dress form and button card are from PTI.

I also played along with the Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge.

From The Desk Of/Stationary

Hello again!  I have something to share with you.  This week for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday, Cindy is our hostess and the theme is "From The Desk" she is asking us to make note cards, monogrammed cards.....whatever you can find on your desk.  I think I went a little crazy and made a whole stationary set for my Mother in Law.  I will say that this took me about 6 hours from start to finish.  I had to decide the design and it took me a little bit to decide what I was going to put them in.  Plus, the top of the box alone took me a good hour and a half.

***I am warning you that this is a very photo heavy post.

I made this box using Beate's pretty A2 card box tutorial on SCS.

I made 4 cards in this boxed set, 2 peach and 2 teal with varying sentiments from varying Flourishes sets using some of my favorite Spellbinders dies.

Here is a close up of the embossed detail at the bottom of the card.  As you can see there is colored cardstock peeking through the embossed cardstock.  I simply adhered a 1 inch strip of colored cardstock to the back of the card and stitched it all together.  Then adhered the mat layer to the card base.

Here you can see all the pieces before I put them together.
The sentiment is popped up with dimensional pop dots.

This is all of them together with pretty matching envelopes.

I tied a satin ribbon around the cards and envelopes to dress the inside of the box up a little.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Colored cardstock and Flourishes Classic White cardstock
Patterned Paper: MME/ Follow Your Heart: Be Happy
Stamps: Letters In Blossom, Summer Blossom, Botanical Bookplates Vol. 1 and Vol.2
Spellbinders Dies: Tailor Made Classic Keyhole, Edgeabilites Classic Petal and Classic Bracket
Copic Collections: Found HERE: Water, Gerber Daisy, Green Grass, Tiger Lilly, Evergreen, Leaf Green, Dahlia

Happy Father's Day

Hello.  I just wanted to pop in and share the card I made for my father for Father's Day.  I used the set from Flourishes called A Guiding Light.  I made THIS card last year using the ship and since we moved and don't live close I thought this image was very fitting.  I just realized while getting the link for last years card, that it has been one year since I have joined the Timeless Tuesday team.  Time flies when you are having fun!

My father came for a visit last week.  It was the first time I have seen him since we moved after my mom passed away.  I hate being so far away, but I am soo happy to be back home.

I played along with the girls over at CPS sketches.

Thaks again for stopping by,
Heather

From the Desk Of

Hello again.  I have another card to share with you for release week at Flourishes.  Today I used Letters In Blossom.  This next set in our new Blossom Collection features beautiful letters perfect for monograms, short sentiments, even name cards! And, it offers the alphabet — from A to Z — in pure florally embellished perfection!

I used some pale yellow colored cardstock as my card base and Flourishes Classic White as the mat layer, embossed border, and focal image.  Spellbinders Edgeabilities in Classic Petal was used for the decorative border.  Copic Collections: Green Grass, Water,  and Sunflower were used

Just A Note

Hello and welcome to Flourishes release week.  We have a Noon Time Challenge for you and that is to pop up something on your card.  I used the beautiful new set called Summer Blossoms.

You can see by the close up that I colored, cut, and popped up one of the flowers.  I even added Stickles for  a little sparkle.

I used Flourishes cardstock in Classic White and the Copic Collections listed below.

HOW TO PLAY: To play in the “Pop It” challenge, all you need to do is just do what the title suggests — pop up a portion of your creation with dimensionals or foam tape. Just that simple — use dimension to make a part of your card POP! If you upload to a Splitcoaststampers gallery, please use the keyword FLLCJUNRW1. Entries must be in before Friday, June 15th at 5PM EST. To enter, make sure you link up your creation below using the Inlinkz widget!
