Bring Back Beautiful/ The Beauty of A Technique

Hello!  I am so happy to be back.  I am about half settled in to my new home.  My craft room is mostly put together and my kitchen is a disaster.  I guess we know what my priorities are, hu?

This month for BBB15 for October is The Beauty of A Technique.
Here are the details:
There are so many on-line resources sharing tips and techniques with stampers. One surefire favorite is the resource library over at SCS! So, this month’s Bring Back Beautiful Challenge is to be inspired by a technique you love, or maybe one you've never tried! Link up your Bring Back Beautiful Challenge creation HERE to enter. If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword BBB15. You have until October 31st to enter! As we unveil our challenge for next month, we’ll share our True Beauties – those card makers who wowed us with this challenge! Winners will be featured on the Flourishes Blog and will receive a True Beauty blog button to display proudly on their blog!

I decided to use the video tutorial from Beate on Acrylic Resist, but used emboss resisting instead.  You can find most of the technique videos from SCS right on her blog.

I used the new set called Medallion Motif.  The intricate design of this image turned out better using emboss ink and powder than the paint.  I just couldn't get the design to come out like I liked and it gunked up my image, which did make me happy at all.  I used a couple different colors of Tim Holtz distress inks and sponged them on over the embossed image.  Can you see the script background?  That is from the set Sweet Nature.

Wow! Truthfully that's all that need be said about this amazing card. But being the chatty cathy that I am, I will add that the embossed resist is unreal. The medallion like stamp offset and resisted is trully stunning! I so wish I could get my hands on some of this Flourishes magic, not that I could do it justice, but I'd sure as heck try. ;-)

The colors you've chosen are like an early sunset over a beautiful lagoon. So inspiring. Hats off to you, Oh So Talented One.
