Celebrate the Season

I have quick post to show you a couple cards that I made for the Teacher of the classroom that I work in and the Classroom assistant.  I started a new job right before Thanksgiving as a 1:1 Special Needs assistant.  What is that you ask?  I am with a child in a regular 1st grade classroom that needs help throughout the day with whatever the day entails.  I am there every day all day long.  When my son (who is almost 13) was in preschool, I was an assistant for another child and loved it.  I could not ask for a better and more rewarding job.  After the Sandy Hook school shooting, I can say that I looked at those sweet faces a little more today and realized what a gift they all are.  The whole incident has me heartbroken.  I just can NOT imagine what would go through someone's mind when they decide to do such a horrific act.  I must move on....too sad to talk about.

I am totally HOOKED on this background stamping.  I CASED (stole) the pretty design from my sweet blog friend Meredith, who is amazing at creating beautiful backgrounds.  The gift I am giving the teacher is in a gift bag that looks exactly like the card in red and blue snowflakes.

This is one that I made for the classroom assistant.  I used the same design but with different stamps and colors of ink as well as colored cardstock.

Your cards are beautiful. Did you use a second piece of cardstock for the sentiment? Or is that just somehow distressed. It really pops. Love the stitching!

I know what you mean Heather. I was a preschool teacher for 7 years. I loved every minute of it. That was so sad what happened at Sandy Hook. I can't even watch the news. Way to sad!

Your card are so cute.
