Happy Big Day

As with every Friday after the Flourishes release week, the design team gets to choose their favorite set from the release and share their creations with you.  I chose the pretty Dahlias stamp set to work with.  I tried growing these beauties in my yard one year, they grew well but needed to be pulled out that fall and replanted the following spring because they were not zoned  for my growing region which happens to be a 5.  That was too much work for this girl, so they got left in the ground and didn't come up the following year.

I am in love with the way these pretty papers look together.  The neutral first layer with the coral and teal additional layers go perfectly with the colored image.  Sometimes I do the matchy matchy thing and choose papers that are the same color as the image and other times I go for analogous colors.  It just depends on how it hits me at that moment.

SUPPLIES USED:

Heather

Gorgeous, gorgeous card, Heather! You have such a flair for colors and combining your papers. Of course, I love the polka dots. Beautiful coloring of the image. Dahlias grow like crazy here and don't have to be lifted. I wouldn't want to do that, either.
