May 2014 PTI Blog Hop

Hello and Happy Memorial Day weekend.  I wasn't sure if I was going to have time to get in my craft room, but luckily I did.  I looked at all the pretty cards for the PTI Blog Hop and decided that I must play along, last minute mind you.  Better late than never, right?!  ;)

This beautiful Butterfly Dreams set from PTI is my absolute favorite butterfly set ever!  I have actually used two different butterflies from two different sets.  The sweet little butterfly pattern on the bottom of the card was made using the Butterfly Dreams stamp set.  The sentiment is from Sending You.

PTI June Blog Hop

Well, hello again!  I am back with a couple cards I made for the June Blog Hop over at PTI.  It has been way too long since I pulled out my PTI stamps and had some fun creating.  This was the perfect opportunity for me to do so.

I absolutely LOVE butterflies and remember how excited I was when this Beautiful Butterflies stamp set came out and I combined it with Mat Stack 4.   It has so many pretty butterflies and sentiments to boot!  These colors together look amazing, but I would have never done so without this push for the color challenge.

I HAD to make another card using one of my original favorite PTI sets called Friendship Jar and I combined it with Daydreamer.

I used the sketch at Sweet Sunday for my first card above.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I will be back tonight with my regular Flourishes post.

PTI Blog Hop

Hello and Happy Hump Day!  I have been very busy today.  I went to the Orthopedist for a recheck on my Tennis Elbow and also had to take my son Collin to the dentist to have 2 teeth pulled.  That was the last of his baby teeth.  They just didn't want to let go.  Next step is braces.  I made 2 cards today, only one which I can share with you now.  I decided to play along with this month's PTI Blog Hop.  I was just looking through my cards the other day wondering if there were things I would change now.  I am my own worst critic.

New Card

The Challenge(Taken from the PTI Blog)
This month, in honor of the New Year, we are challenging you to pick your favorite project from 2011 and share it with all of us. To take it a step further, you are challenged to create a second card that is inspired by the favorite project you select. Your new version of an old favorite could carry over the color scheme, the layout or the stamp sets. We look forward to seeing your best creations from 2011, as well as your first projects from 2012!

This was my original card posted HERE.  I loved the softness and femininity of this card.  I had put a little white paint on the Stampin' Up metal brad, and stick pin in the bow.

PTI Blog Hop

Hello.  Did you have a wonderful Thanksgiving?  We went to my BFF's parents house just like we do every year for Thanksgiving and Easter.  I haven't been feeling so great the last couple days so we didn't stay too long.

I made a card for the PTI blog hop today.  There is a beautiful inspiration photo.  Here is what I came up with.  I saw the gingham print on the couch and pretty greenery strung on the stair railing.  This card definitely has that country Christmas feel to it.

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI/ Kraft, Cream
Patterned Paper: Authentique
Stamps: PTI Love Lives Here and Holiday set too
MFT: Faux Crochet Border
Ribbon: Offray
Button and Twine: PTI/ Rustic Cream

PTI Blog Hop / Thinking of you

Hello.  How is your week going so far?  I have been so busy but have managed to squeeze some mandatory stamping in somehow.  I saw that the PTI Blog Hop this month is flowers.  I can tell you that I am in love with my new Anniversary set and had to use it again.  This time with a different image in the set.

When I see this set I think of fun summery colors.  So I pulled out my My Minds Eye and October Afternoon papers and went to town.  I kept this pretty simple with just a little ruffled seam binding that I stitched to the bottom and a few buttons on the side.  I need to put this one in the mail so it needs to be pretty flat.  I also threw in a blue button just for the heck of it.  I know there is no other blue in the card, but it just worked better than any other colors I put there.  What do ya think?

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI/Rustic Cream, Kraft
PP: MME, OA
Stamps: PTI/ Botanical Silhouettes
Inks: Memento/ Cantelopue, Rich Cocoa and  Versa Magic/ Tea Leaves
Buttons: PTI
Twine: PTI

Tea Time / PTI Blog Hop

I didn't fall off the Earth.  I promise.  I have been working more the last 3 weeks.  So finding crafty/visiting time is hard.  I did have time to make a card and participate in the PTI blog hop.  The challenge is to use embroidery floss in an inventive way.  I am not sure this is so inventive, but it works.  All this twine you are seeing around is the same thing as embroidery floss.  I have both and they are exactly the same.  I decided to wrap mine around this cute little jar from the set called Friendship Jar.  I love the Tea For Two set and thought the sentiment would go perfectly.

I have Iced Tea every day for lunch and dinner, so this was a match made in heaven for me.
AND...I keep all my pasta sauce, and jelly jars, wash them out and use them for my iced tea.  I even have about 6 jars that look exactly like the Ball Jars with the handle.  My wonderful neighbor in Iowa saved them all after her jelly was gone.  She actually gave them to my son because she thought he would like to drink out of them.  Well, little does she know that I use them daily.  hehe   I think Mish had a wonderful idea when she designed this set.

I have wanted to use this pretty Crete Paper from the 6x6 pad called Emma's Shoppe from the moment I received it in the mail.  It just screams Shabby Chic to me.  I have horribly been neglecting my shabby side lately.  Although I love to color, I still am a Shabby girl at heart.

I used this fabulous sketch from Card Patterns.

I can't wait to see what everyone else has created for the hop.

PTI Blog Hop/You are In My Thoughts

Hello my sweets.  I finally got something made for the PTI Blog Hop.  I had way too  many stamps that have been neglected.  I used the All About You set.  I have never even used this one.  Horrible hu?
There are so many wonderful sentiments in this set.  That is why I bought it.  Then I put it on the shelf and never used it.  I used my Basic Grey Basics Manilla and My Minds Eye Home papers.  I glittered up that pretty flower using some Martha Stewart Crystal Fine.  I also used my Copics R20 Blush, R32 Peach, and E00 Pale Fruit Pink in the order from darkest for the center to lightest to the edge.
I am honestly ashamed of how many sets that I haven't used in so long.  I have been trying to pull out the old stuff and bring it back.  Nothing is worse than dusty stamps.  So sad!
I also used the sketch at Sweet Sunday sketches.   Perfect sketch for what I wanted to do.
Thanks so much for stopping by
Have a wonderful week

PTI Blog Hop/Taylored Expressions

I am back for a second post today to participate in the PTI Blog Hop.  This month you are to share a skill or  technique you have learned from a fellow blogger.  Well I have learned so much from PTI designer Mellissa Phillips.  She has the prettiest shabby chic style I have ever seen.  I love the pastel colors and shabby seam binding she seems to work her magic with.  I could only hope to have mastered half her talent.

Round and Round is one of my favorite PTI sets.  The frame and pretty flowers, birds and butterfly options for the center stole my heart when I saw it.
I paired it with pretty Basic Grey Sugared paper and PTI's new Fine Linen satin ribbon.  I used the Mat Stack 1 PTI die.
I used this weeks sketch at Taylored Expressions to get me started for the Blog Hop.

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI/Aqua Mist
Stamps: PTI/ Round and Round
Paper: Basic Grey Sugared
Ribbon: PTI/Fine Linen
Seam Binding: Bluebirdlane Etsy
Ink: PTI/Black, Hawaiian Shores
Other: Doily,Pearls
