Mother's Day

Hello again!  This is the second card that I made this weekend.  If you have visited my blog for a while you will know that pink is my favorite color, I try not to overuse it.  I believe this is the first time I have used the Cotton Candy colored cardstosck, and I love it.  I had one piece in my sampler pack and will definitely be ordering a pack of this color with my next MFT order, along with several other colors I found I like from the sampler pack.

SUPPLIES:

Here is the sketch from Seize the Sketch that I based my card off of.

I used the Curtain Call challenge which calls for pink and pretty.
I love all the gold I have been seeing on cards.

I'm Here If You Need Me

It feels like it has been forever since I posted last!  Within a two week time frame I got into an accident on the way to work, my son passed out and got a concussion in P.E, and we had to euthanize our sweet cat who has been a member of our family for ten years.  Why does it always have to come in threes?!

So, on to my post for today.  I have two co-workers who had a parent pass away this last week.  The card I am sharing today is for a male co-worker who's father passed away last Saturday.  The other card, for a female co-worker, will be shared tomorrow.

I was anxiously awaiting my MFT order because I finally broke down and ordered two of the cover up dies.  I can see that these will be frequently used.  Now I am asking myself why did I wait so long to order these?

I typed up the sympathy quote in Word and printed it out for the inside of my card.  Sometimes I like to hand write on the inside and sometimes I will type something up.

Happy Birthday to You

Today is a special day for the Flourishes Family to celebrate our Birthday Girl - Julie Koerber!  And Julie is definitely worth celebrating!  She’s the right hand on so many levels of what’s beautiful about Flourishes, and we’re so grateful for her and blessed to also call this lovely lady friend.

I used these pretty roses for Julies card.  If you have been visiting me for any length of time, you have seen these before.  They are one of my favorite!  I love the way the aqua and pale violet red colors look together.

Julie, thanks for all you do for us girls on the design team.  I hope you have a fabulous birthday!

SUPPLIES USED:

This summer a number of the Flourishes Senior Design Team girls gathered for a weekend in Yellowstone National Park.  It was a fantastic time of fun!  One of the great things some of the girls did was go Whitewater Rafting.  Because there were family members along, Julie graciously said she’d sit in the middle of the raft so the kids could get the most out of the experience.  The raft guide however thought that would be a fun opportunity to tease Julie about her “Princess" status.  She gracefully took it and we love to tease her about it - and so the idea for this Princess Birthday Hop was born!  Julie we love you and your fun, spunky spirit, and also the warmth and grace you live your life with!  Happy Birthday from all of us at Flourishes!

We invite you to hop along today with many of our Flourishes Family to see our pretty Princess and Birthday inspiration, and join in on our wishes for Julie!

Comment along the way and you could be entered to win any Birthday set of your choice from the Flourishes Store!  Winners will be chosen and announced on Saturday November 23rd on the Flourishes Blog.

I used the sketch at Seize the Sketch for my card today.

And don’t forgot to drop by Julie’s place to send her your Happy Birthday wishes too!

You Give Me A Warm Glow

Hello!  It seems like it has been forever since I posted last.  The past week has been a doozy, and I am hoping next week is a little less eventful.  I made some time this afternoon to get into my craft room.  I love the fun papers in my new 6x6 pack from American Crafts.  Finally found a paper pack that I like!

I love the happy face that this little jack-o-lantern has.  He made a great little embellishment didn't he?  This is one of my favorite cards that I made for Halloween.

I used the sketch at Seize the Sketch for my design.
