Merry Christmas

Hello!  I hope everyone is enjoying some family time for the holidays.  Today my son and I made Christmas cards for my husband.  We decided to use the current sketch at My Favorite Things for the design.  Collin has been crafting with me for a few years now, he even had his own little Cuttlebug Kids machine and dies and made a few scrapbook pages.  I still have them for safe keeping but he does not use them anymore.  I asked him if he wanted to make one for his father and he said yes!  He basically copied mine but was not willing to try stitching on his.

This is the one Collin made.  I let him pick out the patterned papers and I gave him the cardstock choices that I thought would go with these patterned papers, this is what he came up with.  I did give him the dimensions but he did all the cutting, die cutting, and stamping.  Even took his own pictures too!

Thoughts & Prayers

Hello everyone.  Sorry I am late with my Flourishes Friday Free for All post, out internet and phone are out and because of the bad weather I was not able to get out somewhere until now.  I am lucky to have such a wonderful friend who let me come over and steal her internet for a while.  We had a blizzard come through that dropped about 13 inches of very wet snow, and are not able to get someone out to fix our internet until Saturday.  So unfortunately I will not be able to reply to emails or visit anyone until probably Sunday.

Celebrate the Season

I have quick post to show you a couple cards that I made for the Teacher of the classroom that I work in and the Classroom assistant.  I started a new job right before Thanksgiving as a 1:1 Special Needs assistant.  What is that you ask?  I am with a child in a regular 1st grade classroom that needs help throughout the day with whatever the day entails.  I am there every day all day long.  When my son (who is almost 13) was in preschool, I was an assistant for another child and loved it.  I could not ask for a better and more rewarding job.  After the Sandy Hook school shooting, I can say that I looked at those sweet faces a little more today and realized what a gift they all are.  The whole incident has me heartbroken.  I just can NOT imagine what would go through someone's mind when they decide to do such a horrific act.  I must move on....too sad to talk about.

I am totally HOOKED on this background stamping.  I CASED (stole) the pretty design from my sweet blog friend Meredith, who is amazing at creating beautiful backgrounds.  The gift I am giving the teacher is in a gift bag that looks exactly like the card in red and blue snowflakes.

This is one that I made for the classroom assistant.  I used the same design but with different stamps and colors of ink as well as colored cardstock.
