Sourrounded by Butterflies

Hello!  I am so happy to be back to share another card I made for Layers of Color.  I used a pretty butterfly from the set called Butterfly Collector.  I love this set and see myself using it a lot.  I love butterflies and this one was perfect to use as the focal image for my card.

I used the color challenge at CR84FN over at Mona's blog.  Look at this beautiful color combination.  Coral, Tan, and Brown are amazing together.
I also used the sketch at Mercy Tuesday.  She has some great sketches every week.   I just don't get to play as often as I like to.
Thanks so much for stopping by

Happy Holidays

Hello again.  It has been one very long week for me.  I am guessing this will be a very long few weeks coming up.  Tis the season.
I made a card for this weeks Timeless Tuesday at Flourishes which was to use glitter and used the sketch at Mercy Tuesday .   I had this big plan to use lots of glitter.  Well it didn't work out that way.  Funny how that happens hu?  The glitter is in the inside of the ornament and my two glitter brads at the bottom right.  I actually have ornaments that look like all of these in this stamp.  I have several pretty birds that clip on the tree and lots of pretty vintage ornaments with the centers like the on in the middle.  You can see this post HERE from last winter of my tree and ornaments.

I used some old Basic Grey Figgy Pudding and some new Memory Box paper in Tinsel.  Labels 14 Spellbinders dies and some Seam Binding from Bluebird Lane Etsy a button from PTI and the glitter brads are from Making Memories.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Have a wonderful weekend

You Inspire Me/ Flourishes/Mercy Sketch

I am back today to share my card for Mercy Sketch challenge and Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge.  The challenge at Flourishes is "Anything Goes But Buttons and Bows".  Now that is a challenge for me I tell ya.  Oh my!
So I used a paper flower and a pretty metal brad flower with some fall leaves.  I am beginning to wonder if  i should have used different color green leaves.  I tried both before I glued them but now that it is here I am second guessing myself.  Do you ever do that?
I loved these colors together.  Again I colored the image first then picked the paper.  When I do the opposite I have a harder time getting a good result.  I can't stop coloring these beautiful Flourishes stamps.  They are amazing to use my Copics on.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my vintage, pretty pastel colored cards too.  I use to sit and color for hours as a child.  I remember my Barbie coloring books were my favorite.  hehe.  This brings me back to the joy of coloring like I use to have when I was little.  It definatley is a lot more time consuming to make a card with all this coloring and stitching, but the reward is priceless.  I just have them all laying around and I keep looking at them.
Are any of you missing my vintage style?  I think once I have played a little more I will still do some of them as well.  They are very quick and easy.  I can put one of those together in minutes.  These take me a couple hours.  Between the coloring and chosing of the papers and stitching.  I have been taking my time on my stitching.  I think I just wanted to get it finished before, which caused my cards to not look so hot.  Lesson learned!  Tell me what you think.  I want to know.  :)
