Spring/CR84FN 17

Hello my sweet friends.  Are you having a wonderful weekend so far?   It was 67 and sunny today.  Not a cloud in the sky.  I am so ready for spring.  I sat out on the deck in the sunshine for a couple hours today.  I think my face is a little red tonight.  I have to admit, that after long winters in Iowa that this mild winter in Alabama was quite nice.  I found a set of table, chairs and a swing that I am ordering tonight.  I love to sit on the swing and drink my coffee.  It is also wonderful for afternoon naps.  We found a new grill at Lowes tonight also.  When we moved we sold all our patio furniture and grill.  There was no way that everything was going to fit in the moving truck when we moved.  We lived there for 8 years and had accumulate so much stuff.  Besides, we had a basement and you don't find those often in the south.

So, after I chatted your ear off...I will share my card for this weeks colors at CR84FN.  I used another one of my new sets from Flourishes called Seasonal Wreaths.

I am so sad that this is Stella's last week as Guest Designer.  So do you know what that means?  It is time to choose another for the month of March.  Make sure you play along.  We love to see what you create.

Thank You

Hello my wonderful blog friends.  I am finally back to share with you a card I made.  I saw the sketch at Mojo Monday and had to play along.  I think they have some of the best sketches.
I used my new paper from KandCompany called Sweet Nectar.  Oh, what pretty spring colors this pack has.  I have had it sitting around for weeks now.  Same goes with that cute flower from Recollections.  I got them both at Michaels.  I used the Eyelet Circles die from Spellbinders, PTI cardstock in Rustic White and Kraft.
I had to use some pretty Want2Scrap Pink Pearl Bling that comes in a 72 count pack.  This pack has 3 different sizes...which I totally love!!  I just posted this card at the Want 2 Scrap blog as well.  I am asking for any suggestions for a tutorial.  I am open to any suggestions.  What would you like to see?

Happy Foreverness/ CR84FN 16

I am sorry I have been so absent this last week.  I really just didn't feel like crafting at all.  Have you ever felt like that before?  I guess I had lost my mojo.

I am finally back tonight to share with you the new color challenge at CR84FN.
I have not made a wedding card in a very long time.  I didn't make this for anyone particular.  It is just nice to have one on hand just in case.
I wanted to make a flower for the center, but can't find any of my felt or tissue paper.  I guess it is still hiding in a box in the garage.  As soon as it warms up and my hubby and I are both off together, then we can get in there and finish going through all the boxes from the move.
Look at this soft, beautiful color graphic to get you inspired to create.
Don't forget to stop by the other girls blog and see what they have for you.

Sew Lovely/CR84FN 15

I am so happy when a card turns out great and fast.  This one came together pretty quick for me...compared to what it normally takes.  Sometimes it takes me hours, and most of that time is spent deciding on what stamps to use and what paper.  The rest is the easy part.

It is time for another color challenge at CR84FN.  We have a wonderful color combo for you to try.  Wait, every week is a great color combo.  hehe
(Click to make it bigger)

I won this cute set called Sew Lovely by Lawn Fawn from the sweet Kim Duran at Paper Loves Glue.  Stop by and check out her fabulous blog.  I also used some paper from the PTI stack called Everyday Blessings that my sweet blog friend Stephanie Muzzlin sent me, along with some other goodies.  Man, I have some wonderful blog friends.  Love ya both and thank you so much.
I know it is hard to tell in the picture, but the top paper from PTI, the colors are Aqua Mist and Spring Moss.  It is actually Exact to the colors in the inspiration photo IRL.  One of my light tent bulbs went out/broke and I replaced it with something I got at Lowe's and it just doesn't give off the same color.  I need to break down and just order a few.
I used my Beaded Ovals from SB for the first time.  I inked the outer beads in Tim Holtz distress ink Tumbled Glass and the inside in Fine Linen and Vintage Photo.  I love how it gives the image a pretty glow.
Make sure you stop by to see what the other girls have for you.

Let Yourself Go

As a child I remember sitting in my room on the floor coloring for hours.  I guess not much has changed, except I sit in a chair now and not the floor.  Something about coloring is so peaceful.  I forget about everything when I color.  Even forget to cook dinner too.  I need Paper Crafter's Anonymous.  Who wants to join me?  hehe

I found this beautiful picture on the Internet and had to try and make my pretty daisies look somewhat like these.  What do you think?  Did I do okay?
I used my golden colored glitter gel pen for the pollen.  I looked at using glitter or my Stickles, but I really need a fine tip for exact placement.
This is the sentiment I stamped on the inside.  I really didn't have room for one on the front of the card.  That is okay.  I don't mind at all.    I used Copic colors V4, V12, 0, B24.  The paper is from KandCompany/Julianne and the script is from Basic Grey/Basics Manilla.  Ranger inks Antique Linen and Vintage Photo was used to distress on the heart and Tumbled Glass for the mat behind it.
I used the sketch at A Sketch To Try.  Jen always has great sketches.  I also made this for Timeless Tuesday at Flourishes.  The challenge is to "Button Up".  I had intended to use more buttons, but they didn't fit.

PTI Favorite Color Challenge

Hello!  This will be short and sweet.  I have been working on my card for PTI Color Challenge for hours now.  Between cooking dinner, my son interrupting me and being indecisive...I am finally finished.  Whooo!
I love this Darling set from Lisa Johnson called Flutterby Friend.  The first layer paper is PTI Everyday Blessings /Spring Moss and the polka dot is PTI Polka Dot Basics/ Ripe Avacado.
I used Copics G21,YG03, RV02, RV4, RV10, R20, B00, N0, 0
I chose to use Melissa Phillips color combo.  I really wanted to do Betsy's color combo too, but I can't find anything that remotely resembles the Scarlet Jewel.
I am off to watch my shows with my hubby.  He keeps calling for me so I better run.  :)

Jugs/Want 2 Scrap

Hello my sweets.  Want 2 Scrap is sponsoring the challenge at Just Us Girls.  So I have made this card using the sketch.  Lots of layers at the top.
This is my beautiful new paper from KandCompany.  I love the floral patterns in this pack.  It is one of their new 6x6 packs at Michales.  Swoon!  Can you believe I didn't use any ribbon?  I thought it would be overkill with everything else going on.
I used the Swirls White Pearls bling from Want 2 Scrap.    I just cut them up and place them where I want.  Perfect for when you want the swirls but it doesn't all fit in the space you need them to.
Stop by the Jugs blog and see what all the girls have made.
Thaks so much for stopping by,
Heather

It is that time of the month again.  The Bring Back Beautiful Design Team at Flourishes is challenging you to The Beauty of Love:
Love is a beautiful thing, so let’s honor it in our card making! Use the color red, have a feel of romance, or adorn your creation with hearts – the choice is yours!
I don't think I have ever used black on one of my cards for anything other than Halloween.  This just worked for me this time.  I have had this paper for a while and had to pair it with a peachy pink color.
I might end up giving this one to my hubby.  I am not sure now.  This is the new set from Flourishes called Hearts and Flowers.  This is such a lovely set to have.  I love how Flourishes stamps always have a good mix of stamps and sentiments with each set.  They also have some of the best stamp designers.
We have a new addition to our Bring Back Beautiful Team Laura Fredrickson.  You all may recognise her from the Flourishes Design Team during the stamp release.  She has now decided to join our team.  So stop by and see what she has created for you.
Here is  the rest of the team .  Make sure to stop by and leave them all some love.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I will be back tomorrow to share another card I have made.  Have a wonderful week.  :)

Je Taime/ CR84FN 14

Hello my sweets.  I am so happy to share with you the beautiful new colors at CR84FN.  Perfect for any last minute Valentine cards.  I have sent mine off already.  Finally ahead for once.   I love these colors, and I am so happy with how this turned out.
I used one of the new K and Company felt hearts for the focal on my card.  I have been stuck in a rut of making all my cards vertical.  Well, now I have gone horizontal.  I have found myself making more and more of these.
I also dug out some of my colored cardstock from PTI and used Sweet Blush as my card base and Rustic White as the mat and scalloped circle die.  The ribbon is from Memrie Mare.  I am not currently seeing the color there that I used though.  Here is another great store I get my seam binding from called BluebirdLane.  She also has some great vintage images and tags.
Here is a close up of the details.
Please check out the fabulous work from the rest of the DT.

The very sweet and talented *Stella* will be our Guest DT for the month of February.  Go give her some love too.

PTI Favorites

Hello.  This is just a quick post for the contest over at PTI.  Nicole wants you to choose your very favorite card using PTI stamps.  That is a hard one.  I have many.  I will chose one but wanted to share a few more also.
So this is my ALL time favorite PTI card.  I made this one for my mom.
Here are two other cuties I had to share with you.
This one won the PTI blog hop a few months ago.  The stamps I chose for my win are still sitting on my shelf.  How bad is that?

Hi Sweetie

Hello my sweet blog friends.  I whipped up something tonight and wanted to share it with you.  I decided to try stamping in white and coloring with my Copics.  I got the idea from Nicole's post during the release of this set at PTI.  I love the way it looks on Kraft stamped in white.  I felt it really needed the darker paper to make the image pop.  I tried a lighter shade of purple paper first and it just didn't stand out very well for me.
What do you think?
I will definitely be doing more of the white on Kraft look.  I have tons of ideas running through my head.  There are a couple little details that I wasn't happy with, but this is my first time trying this.  I can really do myself in sometimes worrying about the "little stuff".
Here is a closer look.  I used BV00, BV02, G21, G22, Y21, Y23 for the Copic colors.  I also used PTI Fresh Snow...the BEST white juicy ink I have ever used.
I found this great sketch challenge site called Midnight Madness.  There are actually two different sketches.  One for the more embellished cardmaker and one for a more CAS look.  I think that is a wonderful idea.  Don't you?

The One I Love

Hello my sweets.  Have you had a good week so far?  It is raining here right now.  I guess it is better than the snow most people are getting.  I am sure there are many people who are stuck home from work and school from what I see on the news.  I decided to have some craft time today.  I have to admit I was seriously having crafters block.  Nothing seemed to go together for me today until I dug out my cute little package of Valentine vintage images from K and Company.
I played along with the challenge at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday.  The challenge is to create a Valentine.  I only have one set from Flourishes that is Valentine and you will bee seeing it on Monday.  So that is why I chose to use this little darling.  Isn't she cute?
I also used my new PTI Banner Border dies for the sheet music at the bottom.  Let me just say...I LOVE this die set.  You will be seeing a lot of it here.  I added a little Want 2 Scrap bling to the side of the image.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Heather
