Just Because

WOW!  Another week has gone by already.  Where in the world did September go to?  We are still having abnormally high temps for this time of year.  If I am correct we have had over 128 days in the 80's this year. That is insane!  I am ready for fall temps and the tress are starting to turn.  I hope to get out and take some pics in the coming weeks.  We "normally" have a beautiful fall here in Iowa.

It is time for another CR84FN color challenge.   This time around we are using Lt Blue, Green, and Yellow. This is why I love these challenges.  I would have never put these colors together on a card on my own, but I LOVE how it turned out.

Wish Big

Hello again my sweet friends.  Are you having a good week so far?  I have had the last two days off work and decided to play along with the newest MFTWSC sketch.

I used this cute new Al a Mode girl called Birthday Wishes.  I have to admit that I find it kinda hard to color such skinny legs and arms, as it is not easy to get good shading in.  I just HAD to use my new Sweet Tooth felt, and Die namics Flower Medley.  I used the Notched Border die as well.  The cardstock is MFT Natural & Sweet Tooth.  I have to say that this new Hemp Cord is my FAVORITE Thing!

I used some Glossy Accents on the balloons.  Not sure if you can tell very well from the photo.  I did the best I could.

You can find all the details about the sketch at the My Favorite Things Blog.

    Best Witches

I think I have hit a record for the number of posts that I have ever posted in a week.  I sat down yesterday morning and made this cute little thing with my very first PI stamp from last year.  I loved her the minute I saw her and HAD to use her again.  The colors are a little nontraditional for Halloween but she is soo cute and I LOVE pink.  :)

I used MME Lost & Found/ Blush patterned paper. Along with MFT cardstock in Black Licorice  and Kraft.  Stamp is PI Little Witch and die-namics die used is Min Tabs Foursome.

I played along with the current MFTWSC sketch.

I got a bottled Sweet Leaf tea the other day and this is what was inside.  It really hit home for me as I am always so hard on myself and it is a reminder to stop and rethink how I look at life in general.

I am off work tomorrow and have a lot of catching up to do on my blog friends.  see you soon!

Nina B Designs 3nd Blog Hop

Hello, friends! After a much needed summer break, the NinaB Designs team is back to showcase some of Nina's designs for our monthly hop. Make sure you check out the new Summer CHA Releases by Spellbinders, Want2Scrap and Penny Black, and her monthly release by The Craft's Meow.
For this month's hop, Nina challenged us to create something with gift-giving in mind. Here is my project:

A week ago I decided to take the plunge and make my own laundry soap.  I had seen so many pins on Pinterest and after some research I bought the supplies needed and within about 5 minutes I had myself some laundry soap.  You can find the link HERE to the blog that I got the information from.  It does wash up great too!  So with that, I wanted to make up a cute little jar for my best friend.  I knew this would be something she would appreciate.

Here are the products I used for my project:
    Homespun
    Fancy That bling
    Madison paper pack
    Lovely Labels 18

To welcome you back to our hop, we are giving away these TWO PRIZE PACKAGES:
Prize #2 includes The Craft's Meow's Vintage Rides and Retired Layers of Colors Dotted Dahlias and Dotted Peonies Stamp sets:

Winners will be picked randomly from 2 of the designers' blogs:

Everybody is welcome to comment and eligible to win. I will announce the winners on  September 22 right here. Due to the number of prizes being given away on my blog and my dependence on my mom to do the shipping, I have to ask that the winners email (via Contact tab above) me with their info within 4 days (till September 26) in order to claim the  prize. This will help with organization and avoiding confusion (I'm 40 now and sadly this happens more often than before :). Thanks for understanding!
Finally, please consider liking the following Facebook pages that are represented on today's hop, so you don't miss the latest news and happenings:
I hope we'll inspire you all today! Happy hopping!

    JOY

Hello and welcome to day 4 of the Flourishes Christmas release.  Today we are showing Peace & Joy.   Wonderful words surrounded by flourishy swirls create an elegant and contemporary look to send Christmas wishes. This set, illustrated by Becky Fleck offers two main images plus two accent stamps to create just the most unique holiday creations. Set measures 4" by 6".

As you can see I made a Christmas wall hanging.  I love making these, they are so much fun.  I colored and cut around the sentiment and adhered it to some paper cut with my Spellbinders dies.  Several supplies are from the Flourishes store.  Supplies: Spellbinders dies/Classic Petal, Ribbon/Satin Finish Cotton in Latte, Blin/Want 2 Scrap Classy Corners, Copic Collection/ Water.

Speaking of cut files, we have some EXCITING news to share! Four out of the five sets released this week have a Silhouette Cameo cut file available as well. AND, for those folks who asked for SVG files so that they could also use our cut files in other digital cutting machines, we say — you asked, we answered! We now have all of our cut files available in an SVG format as well! Just click HERE to visit these files in the Flourishes store! These digital downloads are purchased from the store and upon completion of your order, you’ll receive a link to download your cut files. We think these will add so much fun when creating!
