Get Well Soon

Hello again!  I am back with a card that I made for Flourishes.  Today the Sr. Design team is using an image from one of the Year In Flowers stamp sets.  I chose the Year In Flowers 2.  This one is for Christine's hubby who had surgery, you can find more info in her post HERE.  I tried real hard to keep this on the more masculine side...I think I failed miserably.  I had good intentions with the grey cardstock and teak colored roses.  It went wrong with the pretty oval frame and seam binding bow that I added.  I am hoping he is used to seeing Christine's pretty creations and won't mind the bow.  LOL  ;)

I am also not sold on the gray distress ink that I added to the inside of the oval. What is your opinion?

Vintage Charm

Hello my dear sweet blog friends.  Are you having a good week so far?  I have the day off today...woohoo!  Since I work for the local school system, and we had a snow day today, that means no work for me.  My morning started with a good cup of coffee, cleaning, cooking, and some crafty time.    Speaking of crafty time, Flourishes Timeless Tuesday is having a Vintage challenge.  You can create a vintage card or project.

I used one of my favorite sets called Feminine Charm.  I put it together with two different paper packs from Glitz.  I used pearls and rhinestones for the the necklace.  Some pretty corner bling by Nina Brackett, colored stick pins, and ivory colored lace give this card a vintage feel.

Life...

Hello.  I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  I have not been getting into my craft room as often because I joined a gym to try and lose the weight that I packed on from taking Prednisone several times a year over the past few years.  I am pretty much a vegan, with the exception that I eat eggs, so my eating habits are very good.  I have had back problems for several years and it got a lot worse right before Christmas.  The steroids, in the past, have done a good job of easing the pain but I recently started going back to the Chiropractor and that has helped a bunch.  I am hoping that if I can stay away from the steroids, then I will be able to lose the weight pretty quick.  For my height of 5'9", I am not overweight, but not where I want to be either.  Hopefully this will do the trick.  Wish me luck!

I love that Double Scalloped border die, it is my all time favorite.  I used the Vintage Flourish instead of using leaves.

I decided to play along with the MFTWSC sketch this week.  I have not had a chance to participate the last couple weeks and have missed it.

To My Best Bud on Valentine's Day

Today, the Flourishes Design Team has something special for you all! We decided instead of featuring a certain set or a certain challenge, we would just grab some of our favorite sets and... create! So, as you make the rounds today, you'll see a little bit of everything -- and hopefully it inspires some creativity in your own crafting spaces!

I decided to add my sentiment to the inside again.  I really like that it does not clutter up the front of my card and it enables me to dress up what is normally a boring inside.

Also, we have some BIG news for you if you are a bargain hunter! We had put our Gambler's Sale on hold over the holidays because there were so many different sales. Well, we've resumed it to try to further clear the shelves at Flourishes' home base. So now, many of our items on the Sale Page HERE are....
That's right -- 55% off! You will see some additional items on sale. As a limited time special, all Aquamarkers are 20% off. These water-based markers are fabulous to have on hand for coloring and water coloring - so if you need a water-based marker, now is the time to stock up! Thanks for stopping by, we'll see you back here soon!

I used the sketch over at Sweet Sunday Sketch to get me inspired for this card.
