Timeless Tuesday 151

Hello.  It is time for another Timeless Tuesday challenge at Flourishes and Tammy is your hostess this week.  She has given us this beautiful inspiration photo to get your creative mojo going.

I used some pretty sherbet colored paper and used mainly white cardstock.  I think I have pretty much covered the colors and feel of the inspiration photo.  I used this sentiment from an upcoming set from the new release.  You will love it!  I promise.  I sure do.

Happy Birthday Collin

Twelve years ago today my darling angel was born.  I can't believe how much time has gone by.  He has grown into a very sweet, and sometimes comedic young man.  He is now wearing a bigger shoe size than I am, and I wear a 9 1/2!  Next school year Collin will be going into 7th grade at  a school just for 7th graders.   You would have never known he was born 10 weeks early and weighed 3lbs 14oz!  I had an extremely difficult pregnancy and he was born with a Grade 3 bleed in his brain.  I will never forget the day the doctors took me in a room and told me he would never walk, talk, and would probably be in a wheel chair with Cerebral Palsy.  I can not describe the feeling I had.  It was horrible!  I do NOT wish that on any parent.  I went back to my room and cried.  I decided to take it one day at a time.  As my mom used to tell me " I wished the first year of his life away" wondering if he was going to meet every milestone.  After he was about 4 I felt a little better, then each year has gotten a little easier.  Well, as you can see, none of what the doctors said turned out to be true, thank GOD!  He does require a little extra help in school, but I am extremely grateful for what he has become.  AWESOME!  I am one proud momma.  :)

I tried to make this card age appropriate for him.  He LOVES Lego's and anything military.  I didn't have anything closely related to either in my stamping arsenal.  I am shocked!  There is actually something I don't have.  hehe

I used an older MFTWSC sketch.  You can find a whole arsenal of sketches from 2011 HERE, and I used #7.  I used two different MFT sets, one which is Polka Dot Greetings and die as well as Framed Greetings and some Stacking Stars dies.  

Here is a picture I had to sneak in at this years trip to the Pumpkin Farm.  He hates his picture taken just like his momma, so I had to be happy with a side shot.  He was cracking up that the goat ate the top off the bag of food.  He loves to feed them every year we go.  I have pictures of him doing this every year except the year we were in Alabama.  It was nice to move back just in time to take our traditional trip to the Pumpkin Farm.

Timeless Tuesday

It's me again!  I hope you are not getting sick of me yet.  I have a card to share with you that I created for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday.  This week Mona is our challenge hostess and she is asking us to create a tri fold card.

Now, I am not so good at making these on my own so I had to use Beate's tutorial on SCS.  Thank God for those!  My hairdresser's father just passed away and I will be seeing her on Thursday, so I decided to make this for her.  She is also sick, so I thought this might cheer her up.

This is a beautiful Tiger Lilly image from Flourishes Year in Flowers 2.  The Rose on yesterday's card is from the same set.  I love the size of these for smaller pieces like this.

Again, Flourishes has some of the best sentiments and I decided to use one on the inside of the little flap.  That sentiment is from another set called Orchids.  The paper is from My Minds Eye/ Sunshine.

The Beauty of Bling

Since it is the first of the month it means it is time for another Bring Back Beautiful challenge.  This month it is The Beauty of Bling.  So pull out all your pretty rhinestones and pearls and bling up your creation.  Here is what I have created.

I love the Year In Flowers sets, and I used the Year in Flowers 2 for my card today.  I added some rhinestone bling from Want 2 Scrap.  It is a bigger piece that I cut to fit my card.  I had to use some pretty feminine paper and lace for the beautiful rose image.
