Timeless Tuesday / Butterfly Thank You

I am back!  It is the beginning of a new week and time for another Timeless Tuesday at Flourishes.  This week Cindy is our hostess and she is asking that we use a butterfly.

I used Butterflies & Blossoms for the sweet butterfly and With Gratitude for the sentiment.  I also used Flourishes Classic White Card Stock.  Inks are Memento Tuxedo Black and Tim Holtz Old paper.

Hope Your Birthday is Simply Wonderful

Hello again!  Are you having a great weekend?  Mine is going by too quickly.  I made all the pit stops to the local craft stores and struck out big time!  Nobody had the items I wanted and I was told to come back on Tuesday.  I guess everyone gets shipment on Tuesday!  Oh well.  I am back to share with you the card I created for the new CR84FN colors.  We have more pretty pastels...my favorite!

***I have a question.  Do you like the pictures bigger like I have been posting them or smaller like this?  Picasa did an update and things have changed.  I am not happy with they way they look when they are so big.  There is no happy medium unless I find/figure out another photo editing program.  You can click on them and you are able to view them in the lager format as they are right now on this post.  I want honest opinions please.  :)

One thing I did find was more of this BEAUTIFUL MME paper at Hobby Lobby.  I have been hoarding the last few pieces and figured I needed to stock up on some more.

I used my MFT Die-namics Always Time for Tea die and stamp set along with the Botanical Beauty flower dies and Decorative Doily duo.

I also used the newest MFTWSC sketch for my sample this week.

We don't know how strong we are...

Hello!  Are you having a great week so far?  I have been busy working and had to take some time last night to make a couple cards for 2 coworkers.  A lady that I work directly with had her mother pass away 3 weeks ago, then a week and a half later her sister passed away.  Then the man in HR had his father pass away the day before Easter, then his grandfather (dad's father) passed away a week after that!  They were in need of a little pick me up, so I made these using some MFT goodies.

HERS

Die-namics: Faux Crochet border, Fringed Perennial flower die,  Botanical Beauty flower dieVertical Gettings stamp and die set

I used the new Echo Park This & That paper for both cards.  When I found the set used on his card I was so happy.  It is not easy to find masculine paper.  It is very retro!  I had a hard time getting the bolder words to stamp evenly.  I tried Memento Rich Brown on his and Versamark Jumbo Java on hers.  Maybe I need to find an eraser see if that will help the stamp to stamp better.

HIS

 Die Namics: Postage Stamp Edge

I used a sketch from a couple weeks ago.  The good thing about MFTWSC is that it is never too late to play.  This sketch worked perfectly for the set that I wanted to use.

Timeless Tuesday 166/ #1 Mom

Hello again!  Sorry I have been so absent this last week.  I have been so busy working.  I do have a card to share with you for this week's Timeless Tuesday at Flourishes.  I am the challenge hostess and I have chosen BINGO!  My friend that I made all the Easter cards for, has told me she would like 4 Mother's Day cards as well, so this one will be for her.

***My card from last week's FTTC made the Friday Featured Fan over at CPS***

I used Flourishes Classic White Cardstock and Tailor Made Classic Tag Die set.  The stamp set used here is Botanical Bookplates Vol. 2.  Two inks used are Tim Holtz Old Paper and Memento Tuxedo Black and Rich Brown.  I also used Copic Collection: Green Grass.

I chose the bottom across...blue, flowers, emboss.  ***You do NOT have to use an actual embossing folder.  A Spellbinder die embosses as well, so they count as emboss.

Timeless Tuesday/ Thank You

Hello.  Are you having a good week so far?  It has been a bit cooler here the last couple weeks.  I don't mind, I enjoy spring and don't want it to pass by too fast.  This week Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge hostess is Amanda  and she is asking us to use our favorite Flourishes set.  I chose the new set called Botanical Bookplates Vol. 2.  I love both flowers in both versions in this set.

You need the Tailor Made Classic Bookplate Die that coordinates perfectly with Vol. 1 and Vol.2.  I also used paper from the pretty MME pack found in this 123 Create Kit.  I think I am going to be addicted to the Tailor Made Classic Tag Die.  So many of the flourishes sentiments fit perfectly inside.  My cad would not be complete with out Flourishes Classic White Cardstock.

I also played along with CPS to get me going.  It is always easier with a great sketch!

Nina B Designs 2nd Blog Hop

**** My CR84FN post is below***

Welcome to the NinaB Designs's 2nd blog hop! We had a great time last month and we just want to thank you for your enthusiasm and encouraging words. The NBD team has new projects to show you today featuring NinaB Designs Spellbinders™ Paper Arts (Home Sweet Home and Sewing Elements), The Craft's Meow Stamps, and Want2Scrap bling.

We have added a new twist to our hop. Not only do we have tons of inspiration for you, but we also are joining in the Crafty Friends' challenge that you can participate in. And of course, there will be prizes up for grabs! You will find more info below.

I decided to make another wall hanging.  I FINALLY got a Spellbinder's Grand Die.  They work great for altered projects.  I took some cardboard and ripped the top layer off.  You are then left with a mess to try and peel off.  I simply mist that thin layer that is left with a little water and let it sit a few minutes.  It peels right off!  Then I painted a thin layer of acrylic paint to the ridges.  I cut the two patterned paper layers embellished and stitched them together and decopaged them to the base.  As you can see I used the Sewing Elements set for the sewing machine and scissors and the Home Sweet Home set for the small button die cut.  I also used a stamp set designed by Nina called Sew Lovely.  Paper is from My Minds Eye. Bling is the pretty Border Bling called Fancy That that Nina designed for Want 2 Scrap.

THE CHALLENGE: If you choose to participate in the challenge, create a new project that uses TWO die cuts. They don't have to come from two different die cut sets. Then, link it to the Crafty Friends' challenge blog. One participant will win the Sewing Elements dies. You can enter as many as you want.
THE RULES: Leave a comment on as many blog hop stops as possible. FOUR commenters left on the NinaB Designs team blogs will be picked to win prizes. One comment per blog please. This is open to our international friends. Here are the links to the NBD team:

THE PRIZES: There are several prizes to be won. One Crafty Friends' challenge blog participant will be randomly picked to get the Spellbinders' Sewing Elements dies
Four commenters left on the NinaB Designs team blogs will be picked to receive the following:
The Craft's Meow's Lovely Birds set
Finally, please consider liking the following Facebook pages that are represented on today's hop:
We hope you enjoy the projects we're sharing with you today and enter the Crafty Friends Challenge as well!

Have A Beauty-Ful Birthday/ CR84FN52

Hello blog friends!  Are you having a good weekend?  I have a card to share that I made using the new CR84FN colors for this week.  I just love pastels and how romantic it always makes a card look.  Plus it is easy to embellish when the colors are softer...at least for me it is.

I finally bought some of the Spellbinders Border dies.  LOVE THEM!  OMG...what have I been missing?  I love that you can mix and match them.  I did not fully understand how they work, until I got them home and played around with them.  I can see I will need more!  See that pretty label stamp set?  That is Lovely Labels 18 designed by Nina Brackett for The Craft's Meow.

Don't forget to stop by the rest of the design team's blogs.  I know they have some fabulous designs for you to be inspired by.

Mother's Day Release

Hello all and welcome to our April Release week at Flourishes! One thing you’ll notice, right off the bat, is that this release will have a very feminine feel! It’s that time of year when we start to think about honoring the moms in our lives and watching parts of the world turn to spring! So, without further ado, let’s sneak peek our first set!

I used  Flourishes Classic White Cardstock along with the pretty patterned paper from Prima called Medowlark.

What’s more beautiful than an antique cameo? This set illustrated by Lauren Pope showcases that feel. Stamp the silhouette in the center of this circle antique lace frame or use one of the six beautifully scripted sentiments inside. It’s a timeless and classic image that can honor your mom or any new mom in your life! This set measures 4″ by 6″. This set is a perfect companion to our Antique Lace background stamp. It’s another brand new stamp! See?

Want to win this set? All you need to do is leave some love in the form of a comment on the blogs below! Why? You need to try to figure out…..

Timeless Tuesday / Fruitful

Hello and welcome to another Flourishes Timeless Tuesday.  This week Mona is our challenge hostess and she is asking us to Create a project featuring some kind of fruit as your focal image.

As you can see, I chose the Strawberry set from Flourishes and used some cute MME paper.  I have to say I am terrified of coloring with red.  There is no going back once that has gone outside the lines.  I am loving the Flourishes Classic White cardstock.  The weight is amazing!  I also used the Poppy and Green Grass Copic Collections from the Flourishes Store.

Here is a photo of my BFF Gina and I on Easter Sunday.  We always take a picture together each Easter. Matter of fact, my profile pic is from Easter about 3 years ago.  As you can see, I still look the same.  I don't change my hair much.  It may vary in length depending on how sick I am of it hanging in my food!  LOL

I also used the sketch from Deconstructed Sketch for inspiration.

Happy Easter

I just wanted to pop in and wish you all a Happy Easter.  We will be spending my Easter with my BFF and her family, just like we always do.  I had 2 more cards to make for my friend, for members of her church.  I used the same LO because I loved the way it looked.

This one is more vintage looking with an aged frame in Tim Holtz Old Paper.  I used the He Is Risen set from Flourishes as well as some pretty May Arts ribbon Beate sent me to try.  I love this stuff.  Card stock Flourishes Classic White and PTI Ocean Tides.  Spellbinders Labels 20 and Petite Ovals LG&SM were also used.  Ink is Memento in Rich Cocoa.

This one is more CAS with Flourishes White Cardstock and PTI Spring Moss.  I used an old Cuttle bug folder and did the letterpress technique.  More of that pretty May Arts ribbon was used here as well.

I used Copic Collections from the Flourishes store.  You can find them HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
