Botanical Butterfly

Hello again!  I am back tonight to share a card I made for the Product focus using Perfect Layers.  I used the 3/8 side of one of the rulers.  Using Perfect Layers, you can cut from 1/16 of an inch (very thin borders), up to 1 inch (very bold borders), with no measuring required.

I also played along with Just Rite Friday Challenge, for this month's challenge it is Spring and Butterflies.  Two things I love!

I used the Fleur De Lis Labels Twenty and Botanical Butterflies both are so pretty and worked perfectly for what I wanted.  I also used Spellbinder's Labels 20 and MME papers.  Cardstock is PTI Rustic White, and Kraft.  Ribbon is from Offray and is Off White.  Lace is from my sweet friend Stella...all the way from the Netherlands.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Heather

Stitched Together with Love

I finally got some craft time today.  I have been so busy this week running around running errands and sitting with my mom.  I have wanted to make a card for this weeks Mojo Monday since the day it posted on Monday.  I am cutting it really close here to the deadline.  Then guess what?  My camera battery died.  So I had to charge that up.  Always something I tell ya!  :)

I used an old set from Just Right that I have only used 3 times now.  How sad is that?  Really?  I picked the Crate Paper papers first then chose the image.  I love this pretty paper and had to use it again.  I framed the sentiment with the stitching image that came with the set by cutting it out separately then using pop dots.  I layered that on top of a Spellbinders Lacey Circle cut.  I cut pieces of ribbon for the tails and used some pretty cream colored satin ribbon.  For the scalloped bottom I just cut circles using an old Fiskars circle squeeze punch and layered them on  top of each other.  Stitched around the whole card and added a little Maya Road stick pin to the bow.  There ya have it!  :)

You can find this fabulous sketch at Mojo Monday.

I will be back Tuesday with my Timeless Tuesday card....so stay tuned.
Hugs,
Heather

I Love Being Your Friend Because...

I love being your friend because we can talk for hours.  I love that we both share the same interests and ideas.  I love that we have kids the same age.  I love that we could go to dinner every Friday night and go shopping at all the craft stores.  I love that our husbands went to school together.  I love that you would do anything to help me out if I needed you.  I loved that you shared your family holidays with my little family when we lived so far from my whole family.  You are a true friend forever and I miss you.

I made this Valentine's Day card for my BFF back in Iowa.  I hate that we had to move so far away.  She was my craft buddy, shopping partner, and a listening ear when I needed one.  You must have one best girlfriend.  Life is miserable without one.
I used my pretty Basic Grey Bittersweet and Basics Manilla papers.  I also used my NEW Spellbinders Eyelet Circles die.  This is the first time I have colored with my Copics on Kraft paper.  I really like how it turned out.  I used a white gel pen for the head pins and flower.

A little tutorial for you all:
I decided to show you all how I stitch on my cards.  There are 2 ways you can do it.  Sew all layers through the cardstock, or I sew the paper layers through the first layer of cardstock only.
See how it looks on the back.
Then I take my craft tweezers and pull the strings through to the back, and trim.
Then I adhere the top layer to the main cardstock card base.  Then you have a nice clean card on the inside without all the stitches in there.  This, I found out by trail and error.  Lots of error on my part.  :)

This is the fabulous sketch I used from Mojo Monday.  I also made this card for this weeks challenge at Just Rite called "Love is in the Air".  They have an amazing prize package up for the grand prize winner.
I will be back tomorrow to share another card.  I am on a roll.  I love being ahead.
Thanks so much for stopping by

Love Is The Thread That Binds Us Together

Hello my sweets.  Have you had a good week so far?  Well, my son has had the whole week off from school because of the little amount of snow we got overnight Sunday.  I guess there are no plows to plow the roads so we just have to wait for it to melt.  We did have a very sunny day today and it melted a good bit of the snow, but it is going to be 11 degrees F tonight and what melted will be frozen ice in the morning.  Sooo...I stayed in, made some Cranberry Orange muffins and had a big cup of coffee with my son and we watched Martha Stewart.  hehe  Then I decided to make a pretty card that can definitely pass for a Valentines card if I want.
Remember my post on Saturday where I told you that you would be seeing more of my "old stuff"?  Well, I pulled out my Just Rite set that I only used one time.  I love this set and I am just blown away that I only used it once.  I am not doing this anymore.  If money grew on trees I suppose I wouldn't mind.  I am a great gardener ya know.  Too bad they don't make money trees.
I saw a few girls use this sketch and loved the whole layout of it.  So I got out my oh so pretty and soft toned Basic Grey Capella paper and my Just Rite Stitched with Love set and went to town.  What do you think?   Like it?
Here is the fabulous sketch that Karen has for you over at Sweet Sunday.  You have until 10 pm Friday Mountain time if you make to make a card for this sketch.  So hop to girls!!  :)
